North Texas Drivers Stopped at Roadblock Asked for Saliva, Blood

Fort Worth police apologize for its role in federal survey

Passive systems are used to detect alcohol use without your knowledge. Since I don't think I've had a BAC of more than about .03 in the last 20 years, I wouldn't worry but this is a scary trend of the Federal Government getting in your bed. :)

NEVER would I submit to such a program. The very thought of it even happening makes my blood boil and insights severe discontent from me towards our elected officials and the fucking clowns who dream this shit up rather the subjects volunteer or not. And in Texas of all places?!?!?!

This is going to backfire, unconstitutional AND, according to the disclosure they give to you, you were 'passively' tested for alcohol BEFORE you could even refuse or consent...

    Blatant civil rights violation...

I don't see this going much further without a challenge in the Federal Court System..

"It just doesn't seem right that they should be able to do any of it," she said. "If it's voluntary, it's voluntary, and none of it felt voluntary."

Above is a quote from the article. And check out the dress and firearms...it may have been voluntary but why all the "preparedness"?

Forgot to add, if the gov. Really wanted to make an impact with dui's they would 1) make it easier and faster for police departments to process and 2) stop allowing offenders to walk free in court.

Reject, thanks for quoting yourself. I NEVER look at user names unless I have something specific to say to that user. Without your quote (of yourself), I wouldn't have caught on...

So bets on thread lock and or bannings anyone?

For those above that say's 'It was voluntary..." You need to listen to the video. They tested using passive means - They took it regardless if you volunteered or not.

Much like legislative Acts, the deception is blatent. It's volunteer but we did it anyway. Volunteer so you don't feel violated. You have already been violated by the time you read it. Much like that healthcare bill. Now what did they call it? Oh that's right, The Affordable Healthcare Act. That may turn out to make it affordable. We will have to see.

I know many of you folks have been taught in our 'modern' NEA school system where they teach you that the Constitution is an old and outdated document written by white slave owners. Personally I see it as a document that was written by a number of brave souls that were willing to die for their decisions. Do you know what you would be willing to die for other than your loved ones? It's a great exercise to do if you haven't thought about it already.

For those of you that have been in the sandbox with bullets flying, you know what it means and thank you for that.

    Wait... I`m confused...

They don't do ride checks for alcohol in the states???
So I can drive down the road, and as long as I don't appear drunk they won't give me a breathalyzer?

I mean, the other stuff sure, I see what they are getting at, trying to get a sample of people who are on drugs while driving, isn't a normal thing, whatever.

Seriously? They don't do ride checks in the states?

If by ride check you mean what we call breathalyzer yes we do in many states. Frequently as a road block / check point. Essentially it's random testing.

Below was the rational that prevented wide spread check points in the past and although check points were challenged due to some new laws inacted at state levels some 25 or so years ago the SCOTUS narrowly ruled road blocks legal. However several state constitutions have made the practice illegal.

    Amendment IV below:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

    Amendment V below:

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

4A The "reasonable" portion is the question and road blocks found by SCOTUS not unreasonable when considering the benefit. The benefit is still a matter of question by many.

5A Is a question due to not forcing one to be witness against himself. Some states have inacted laws while not forcing a subject to submit that make penalty as or more severe than a DUI.

In all fairness, I believe in a fundemental interpritaion of the Constitution.
