Painting Stock Steel RIms

i have heard of people painting there stock alloys, but what about steel rims. What are the prep steps, and what kind of paint do you guys use, thanks

 

Well it is like painting anything else.

Clean them well.
Use Dawn and a degreaser.
THen sctoch brite pade them or sand to bear metal, depending on what color you want to add.
Then us a Tact cloth to wipe off the surface and or a paint prep wipe.

THen paint them with prime/paint with metal paint.

it is real easy...

if you mess up you can start over.. it is only wheels.

 

I used dupli-color primer, wheel paint (satin black), and wheel clear coat. I think they came out great and they have held up.

 

i have considered painting my wheels but i have been so uneasy about chipping the paint

 

Get them powdercoated.

 

i would rather just buy new rims, powercoating can be pricey
