OK so a little background on me, I come from the full size off world. But I'm in the market for a Taco ( I fell in love with them) I'm looking at a few but for one reason one in particle catches my eyes every time. Its a 2005 Toyota Taco Access cab with 100K, 5 speed 4 Cyl. They are asking $14,999 its bone stock and has only one owner. Any help, thought, comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys for the help.

Looks clean in the pic. Check the carfax, and have it looked over by a mechanic. It has the TRD Offroad wheels on it so that's cool. That's some low mileage for a 10 year old truck.

Personally I would look for a V6 but that one looks nice.

Looks clean. And with a couple easy mods you can make that old man tan look pretty good! Have you thought about negotiating a lower price at all?

Yup... I've got over 100k on my '08.

5 lug regular cab, so can't compare price, but Carmax is normally pretty fair and they have been checked out.
I would trust a vehicle from Carmax before a private party.
I would NEVER buy a used car from an independent lot.
I've bought two from a local Chevy dealer and been happy with both.

i bought mine a couple months ago, when i was looking i torn between the v6 and the 4 bangger but i got the v6 with the 6 speed and 4x4 with 103xxx for 13,900 cash. sometimes i wish i had the 4 cyl but when my friends call me to say they are going out to the woods or trail riding (all have full size z71's or F150) i am glad i have the v6. i have pulled out many full size trucks with stock 245 A/Ts, they use to give me shit but now they know better especially with my new used set of 265 mud tires (got them for a steal with 3/4 tread for only 200 bucks)

May I ask what catches your eye on this particular Tacoma? IMHO, the only nice thing on this one is the 4x4, even that is not a deal breaker. Priced high, not TRD, 4cyl, bone stock, not dbl cab, not the most popular color choice, and an '05.

Search Craigslist or even here and there's a good chance you will find a better deal.

Yea, that's a little high for a 05, 4cyl, 5spd. I've seen way better deals on CL. I'd keep looking, or offer them $12,000 and see what they say.

I agree it is priced high, I don't really need one that's lifted or anything anyways. Since I'm about to PCS to Germany, Thank you Army!!! :D lol From what I hear if you drive a lifted truck the Police F**K with you a lot and will pull you over for every stupid little thing. Being the gear head I am UTI grade when I do lift it, Ill start swopping gears, port the heads, exhaust, So Ill make enough power to turn 33s ( my plan) I'm a fan of the color really. I like lighter colored trucks, don't get my wrong I love, black on black trucks. But its just to common, I like to be different. I'm also looking at an 07 with 55,XXX for around the same price. I just can't narrow it down. I'm going to keep looking, since I have another two months left in this tour to Afghanistan. Thank you guys for the advice. It really helps!
