    Hey guys, i'm looking at buying a fx-r retrofit tomorrow since there is some good deals for the black friday.

    my questions are;

    1-should i go with the 2.5'' lens or 3''?
    -what's the difference?
    2-to follow the first question, what set up is best if i want some halo's inside the shrouds. are some shrouds like the apollo best for this? is the 3'' lens allow enough space for the halo's inside?

    you get my vibe...what have you guys done

    thanks

    Also which shrouds are the best suited for our trucks;

    the apollo I, apollo II or apollo III?

    This is mine with a 2.5" lens and gatling gun shrouds. I would say go 2.5" for the lenses because it just fits really well. The shrouds are really just personal preference. Just get a deep enough one to cover the entire projector because Tacoma headlights are pretty deep

    Nah. I decided against halo's last second but my shrouds have a location for them. One of my friends had apollo's and now has bullet's. Both of those sets also came with halo locations. I'm pretty sure it's an easy install. Specially compared to the rest of the retrofit. What color halos and HID's are you getting?

    I.m thinking white halo's in the inside with 5000K bulbs. and since i am in canada and have drl's, i'll replace the bulbs by some of those new VLEDS switchback bulbs and of course i'll black it out like you did on yours..

    Btw; your set up looks clean...i think i'll order some new depot or use oem housings and really take my time to do them right, that way i won't feel rushed to put them back on the truck right away.

    That's pretty sweet. I recommend it for sure. The output is incredible. Switchbacks are sweet too. I didn't get them but they would be really cool to have. Post up pics once you've done it. I'm sure it'll look sick

    Apollo shrouds are bid and fill the reflector bowl perfectly. Mine required no trimming but it depends how far you sink the projector in. Really not much difference in the 2.5 or 3 lens up to you really.

    Okay... first thing you want the 3" lens. It actually fits the FX-R the best. The 2.5" has to use a centering ring to fit into the projector.

    I have apollo shrouds on my newest setup here and attachment of halos to the inside of the shroud was really easy. It can be done with the other ones, but sometimes just needs a little work. Like the gatling gun shrouds for example just have a couple tabs that have to be trimmed inside. I'm happy with the Apollo on this setup, but its not like they are the "best". Personal preference.

    This is where you still see the chrome ring around the projector

    I guess the bigger lens doesn't show this?

    Thanks for the advice on the 3'' lens that confirms what i tought. Do you feel the apollo fitted well or a bigger shroud like the apollo 3.0 would fit better? Also, what size of halo did you put inside?
