    Greetings fellow Tacoma friends!

I recently purchased a used 2011 Tacoma 2.7l double cab 5 lug with 60k miles.
I've wanted to purchase a Tacoma for well over 10 years now but could never afford it, I found mine on a Honda lot with an advertised price of $19,000. I did a lot of email correspondence with the dealer and negotiated the price down to $17,000.

First thing I did was: wash, clay bar and wax the truck and I can say it's pretty much flawless. The previous owner took great care of her and the carfax shows it was serviced every 5k miles at the dealer.

My commute to work is 120 miles each way (24 hour shifts/ 2 times a week). That being said I don't plan on lifting the truck or putting bigger tires on.
So far I've been getting great mpg, after driving 1k miles I'm averaging 26.5.

The mods I plan on are as follows

OEM Tacoma all weather floor mats front: $50

    Weathertech floor mat rear: $70
    http://www.weathertech.com/toyota/2...etention-device-type/driver-side-floor-hooks/

    OEM cargo net: $25

    OEM cargo divider: $241
    http://www.toyotaoempartsworld.com/...501&subcat2=170509&subcat3=170514&startrow=11

    Fog lights: $90
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fog-Lights-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3699e6fc&vxp=mtr

    Window tint: $100- $300?

    Either:

Softopper (no side windows): $781 (with cover, rear window and shipping)
    http://www.softopper.com/toyota-tacoma-soft-top-truck-cap-details.aspx
    Y

    Or:

Best top soft top (with tinted side windows): $569 (not sure about cover, shipped)
    http://www.autoanything.com/hitch-bed-accessories/61A4695A0A0A3317410.aspx

Haven't decided on what soft top camper shell yet.

If anyone has any advice on these items or anything tacoma, I'm all ears!

I'm getting a lot of great info on this site and look forward to lots of fun times in the Tacoma!

Good looking truck! I wish Toyota had offered something like that with a stick shift about 8 or 10 years ago when I was looking.

Welcome, Yeah for another 5 Lug.
I would GPS check your speedo, I found that when I had stock tires I thought my MPG was great, but the Speedo and ODO were off, I went to 235/75/15s and its dead on.
The Fog light install is a breeze and there are many write ups.
I'm jealous of your fender flairs BTW.

There are a couple of D.I.Y. mods that I highly recommend if you don't already have them, especially since you have such a long commute:

    1. Cruise Control - $150.00
    2. Intermittent Wipers - $85.00

    Enjoy you new ride!!![IMG]

Good point, I'll check the gps. I do really try hard for good mpg with my driving habits though. I always set the cruise control to 1 below the speed limit and never ever floor it.
Does anyone on here stretch mpg up to 30?

I guess the truck came with the "convenience package" so cruise control is already installed but I will definitely look into the wiper mod.

    Thanks!!

Unique truck! I've only seen a few dc 5lugs but this is a 1st that was an 11. Along with the previous poster said, I put 235/75 on my last one and it was spot on with gps, also made it look more like a truck. Here is the only picture I could find of it with bigger tires. Congrats!

I know I have read a couple of posts about MPG being impacted by soft toppers.

It was a decent drop the buyers experienced. Might be something to look into since you are concerned about MPG.

Great point! I'm going to search around for more info.
I guess I could always keep it in the down position unless I'm hauling something that needs to be covered.

I like those 5 luggers, I wish they made them with a 5-speed manual.
