I finally decided I have had enough with the stock radio and piss poor sound. I have narrowed my choices down to the following.

    Pioneer avh-x3500bhs
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X350BHS/Pioneer-AVH-X3500BHS.html?tp=5684

    Ken wood ddx470
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX470/Kenwood-DDX470.html?tp=5684

    Alpine Ive-w530
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500IVEW530/Alpine-IVE-W530.html?tp=5684

Just a few things to keep in mind. One audio quality is the most important. Two, I will upgrade speakers at some point. I don't plan on running an amp or sub. Thanks.

Could you elaborate? Curious as to what the issues are?

My Alpine 928HD has been great. I would be surprised if there was a big difference in sound quality between the ones you listed. I would look for the features you like best.

You will still have poor sound from an aftermarket deck anyway. You will need to still upgrade speakers. Those three brands you have shown are all notably good names in car audio. A deck is the least of the problems. You want to consider if you are adding amps or sub stage. If you are planning on running speakers from the deck alone then a good set of speakers with a good handling power of about the same as the RMS rating of the decks output at the correct ohm's

I am starting with the head unit. Speakers are next. I decided on the Pioneer 3500 at this point. Recommendations on speakers or what to look for?

I have the Kenwood. It is a decent unit. I listen to mostly streaming and a usb stick loaded with music. The radio controls and interface aren't the best.

I just got the Pioneer avh-x2500bt. I almost got the 3500 but I didnt think it was worth the extra money.

It is a great unit tho! Sounds awesome!

Nice. I had Best Buy price match Crutchfield and picked the unit up in the store for $299. Is that the Metra kit? How do you like it? How is the color?

I'm not sure what kit it is but I am really happy. The color is great! Movies and images look good.

Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
I like the Kenwood over the other two. I installed a ton of those at my old job and hardly ever had any issues with them. We also carried Pioneer but the Kenwood's were more popular. I think Kenwood is more user friendly and the 470 is a great model.

I really struggled choosing between the two. Santa has a 3500 on the way.

Nice, well I'm sure you will be happy. It is a great deck as well.

I've had two alpines and had no complaints. I've also had two pioneers one being my current premier and I hated the menu set up on both. I like the alpines since they seem to be more natural and easier to navigate through the settings and menus. But that's just me.

I guess I would go with the Pioneer...Kenwood does not support their HU's long enough. I have a 2 year old Kenwood Nav unit that they no longer provide map updates for.
My 5 year old Pioneer still has regular updates!

I got the Pioneer avh-x3500bhs. Have had it for almost a year now and haven't had any issues.
