My friend has a 96 Z71 single cab, we were going to do a tug o war but realized i could win and have a little of bragging rights or lose and have a couple thousand of damage and have a truck that will sit because i don't have money to fix it. so we have never done it but if we do ever do it, it would be on some clay or grass, he has streets and i have mud tires.

If you damage your truck it's worth 30k if he damage his only worth 3k. Ya I'll launch and race my 4k$ V8 mustang to go against 30k$ new v6 mustang why not its a cheap thrill and the odd is pretty good for me.

Not only will he win, he'll do it in a 20y/o truck. Better to challenge him to "who has the worse leaf springs" if you want to win.

I think he means you don't have the balls, not the truck. If you don't hook up, drop it in 4low and lock the rear, then No Balls!!

Sounds like an idiot I deal with who owns a new jeep. He thinks it is far superior to my 1st gen. He kept telling me how my truck couldn't go on the trails he does. Once we finally did go off road he was suppried at how capable the little taco was.

I'm pretty shocked at how many of you are talking shit about someone else's truck and encouraging vandalism, whether direct or indirect. Maybe this forum is far less mature than what I'm used to - but encouraging birds to sit on someone else's ride is not cool. Neither is slashing tires. Or maybe it's a gen2 thing - I don't see this shit on the gen1 board.

You might not have to like the guy, but for having a one-sided story, this is a pretty vicious thread. And honestly, having owned eight Toyotas (three of which were trucks), I'm still not going to talk shit about a Chevy pickup. Sure, there are turds out there - but they're not bad trucks at all.

I had a guy at work talking up his Civic - turbo, blahblah. We bantered back and for for a while, then I took him for a ride (~400rwhp MR2 Turbo). His jaw just about hit his lap and that was that.

There's no positive end result from this passive aggressive / competitive / etc bullshit that's going on here. Knock it off and grow the fuck up.

You should do it, and post the video. I certainly wouldn't do it but don't let that stop you.

Who gives a shit about a towing pull-off. You answered your own question when you said "pos with open diffs." Tell the guy you feel sorry for him and walk away. Your truck will still be running 20 years after his has been sitting in the junk yard.

That's funny that you say that because the Chevy the OP is saying is already 20 years old. So really, the chances of that Chevy being around 40 years and then the Taco being 20 would be pretty much zero.
