    Cost me zero dollars too.
I pulled the back off the tailgate to get at the camera.
Un-bolted two 10mm bolts, replaced them back in and un plugged the camera
Followed the wire inside the tailgate and worked it out through an existing hole.
Then ran it thru the hole the crank goes thru to lower the spare tire.
Then doubled the plug back out the hole and over the top of the bumper.
Let me back up, I needed to relocate it because I have a rear tire carrier bumper and the tire is in the way of the camera.
I then took a piece of metal trimmed to fit the width of the camera housing and drilled 2 holes in the top and 2 in a piece of angle iron that sits above my license plate . The camera housing sits flush with the angle iron.
In the last picture is the new view from the camera.
I zipped tied the excess wire under the truck.
Took less then an hour to fab it up.

After standing there looking at the truck I might re do it.
Run the wire up inside my shell and drill a hole below the 3rd brake light to mount the camera up high.
Not sure if i want to drill into my new shell yet.

That was my very first thought... "Why not put it up high, like in the cap beside the 3rd brake-light ?"

I just installed a tiregate from wilco on my truck and I too pulled the backup cam from the original tailgate. Do we need to worry about the camera getting wet at all? It rains quite a bit up in flagstaff
