Depends on the state. You can read it on the pump. Since all the big-name stations get gas from the same distribution depot (brand-specific additives are later added to the tanker truck), if you see V-Power advertised as ethanol-free, then it's likely the other brands' 91 gas in the area are also ethanol-free even if they don't advertise it as such.

    V-Power is NOT ethanol-free in NM: http://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=NM

I had been running E0 for quite some time in my '07 2TR (@ ~$1 more per gal) at the only local station I've been able to locate selling it.

The issue I ran into recently is that their E0 is 90 Octane. No concerns on the stock 4 banger, but last month I went to a URD S/C requiring min 91. Since then I've switched to Chevron's 93.

One thing I didn't see addressed in this thread is that (at least here) the label on the pumps says *May* contain *up to* 10% E.

A while back when I first switched to the E0, I found some threads in misc forum sites on the topic stating the only real way to know your ethanol content is to actually test what you get out of the pump.

Thanks to this thread I'll be going back to re-research this issue...both testing the fuel and trying to determine the benefits/detriments in the grey area between 90 Octane E0 vs 0-10% 93, fine tuning adjustments needed, w/ or w/o any additives like Chevron's Techron and AMSoil's PI fuel treatments as well as the cost:benefit factor as there is no point in using a product that will double the life of an assembly already good for 300,000 miles if you have other internals likely to suffer catastrophic fatigue failure much sooner (kinda like using ubertight, ubersealed, bulletproof head studs and gasket to ensure you'll punch a hole in the block or head instead of blowing a head gasket).

Lots of variables...I figure w/ my AFM1000, open+closed loop capable piggyback, adding a good EGT probe, and countless hours of fueling, testing, logging, fine tune tweaking, I may narrow it down some over the next 100k miles...

Sure glad this stuff is fun! Otherwise the time spent as lab-boy and road test rat would wind up being a negative expected value experience.

Thoughts from members on 90 Octane E0 vs 0-10% 93 on a boosted setup requiring 91 would be greatly appreciated.

That is not correct. It depends on where you are at in Texas.

Cost vs. MPG--about even-and my truck runs better with REAL GAS.
Remember to use REAL GAS in you gas powered outdoor power tools.
Ethanol KILLs the carbs in just a couple years.
REAL GAS--I use it. Boats too-if you have them.

I know there are places you can find it. People ln the fishing forum talk about it all the time. Only place know that sells ethanol free only has it in 87.

If you can't find 100% gasoline, use Starbrite Startron. It has enzymes that eat the ethanol, to keep it from fucking up your carbs/fuel system. The marine guys (boaters) developed it for that very reason. Although it sucks to pay to buy an enzyme, to dump in your gas you already paid for, to eat 10% of it away.

I use it on all my small engines.

My push lawn mower with its 6 hp Briggs & Straton engine runs fine with 87 pump gas (up to 10% ethanol), 12 years and counting. The difference is I don't leave fuel in the mower tank for more than a month. Any leftover fuel in the jerry can at the end of summer is put in the car.

Had to work in TN from NC this past Saturday, filled up and went there and back,

maybe put 230 miles or so on the RC 4x4 MT tacoma and I averaged 22.5 MPG and this was running 70-80 on I-40,

    My usual is 20.5-21.0 MPG,

So at least 1.5 MPG better at that speed is awesome,

I am sure it would be better at 65ish, Lol...

Ive seen a lot of positive testimony for increase in mpgs. Does anyone have any input regarding any benifits of longer term fuel storage? I have a few jerry cans i like to keep filled and cycle them every three months. I had heard that ethonol enhanced fuel loses stability quicker even with fuel stabilizer.

I cannot find ethanol free in Delaware, I think it is illegal to sell here. I'd fill with it every time if I could. Ethanol is crap!

Ethanol attracts water, it will separate out of the gasoline. Small engine carb bowls will perforate from it. Use this, it eats the ethanol out of the gas if you are storing it.
