I replaced my coilovers with ORI struts and by bumping up the pressure in the lower chamber I get a smooth ride and very little push off while cornering so my vehicle stays almost level through corners. They work even better than my sway bar did! The cool thing too is the harder you corner the better they hold up too.

I my self haven't looked into sway bar links at all, but I came upon this recently while browsing around and remembered seeing this thread; haven't seen ideas like it on here before (sorry if this is a repost). Perhaps to get as close to disconnecting sway bar links, could something like this work for the Tacoma for those of you who have been looking?

That does seem pretty awesome... I don't need auto quick disconnects but that seems more up my alley.

I'd have to see more of it to get my hopes up. Just to make sure when disconnected they dont puncture the CV boots when stuffed.

I think the noise would drive me nuts.

I'd imagine you would be able to eliminate the noise using some form of a damper at the bottom and top of the slide and a close fit Teflon bushing on the slider it self. That seems to be made with parts that were obtained a homedepot. I am sure with some engineering design many of the issues could be addressed.

^ agreed-w/ a little engineering, I think the idea has real merit- I like it :) now if we just knew an engineer to work the kinks out........

I doubt it can be any louder than what I have now. Not sure why but my front end is 5x noisier than others.

If you can get them to touch, you have bigger problems like a completely bent spindle.

If you guys really want this. I bet you adapt one from a Rubicon. I loved mine and it worked great. It's not bad disconnecting by hand when you hit the trail. It just blows when you got dry/wet caked upped mud at the end of the day. When you have reconnect. For the ride home. Basically it's a sleeve that is pushed by a servo onto the other side of the sway bar. Kinda like axle splines. Removing the sway bay entirely is just nuts. Especially if you are jacked on big flexy tires. Loaded down with gear or a RTT. One jackass pulling out in front of you. You could easily find yourself in a barrel roll. Don't remove em! I will just get my hands dirty before removing them.
