I love my 2012 Tacoma. However after having it for a little over a year, I regret not buying a full size truck. More power, more room, not that much more expensive and in the same ball park for gas mileage.

That being said, I still live my truck and will drive it for a while. Eventually will trade up for a full size.

My automotive life was incomplete until August 2012. It took me 5 cars/trucks before I acted on my TRD OffRoad. My only regret is not having more disposable income to aggressively mod (and the pinstrips/dents from the previous owner).

No regrets for me. I purchased the SR5 dc/sb 4wd v6. I didn't need the other stuff for what I do which is fishing, home projects, snow now and then. Just drove 2,000 miles the past few days and found it to be very comfortable. Good luck!

There are a few little things I don't like about my truck, but as a whole, they are minor, and most of them can be fixed or replaced if you are willing to spend a little cash and put some work in. Things like no heated mirrors or only having one front tow hook. All of the major parts of the truck work well and are well thought out and designed. Another benefit of the Tacoma is the aftermarket is huge, so you can customize a lot of the smaller (or even bigger) things that you may not be crazy about.

The handling is fine, it's as good as a truck or SUV should be. The ride is decent, and I have never felt unsafe due to the truck's handling characteristics. I just finished a 6 hour road trip, and the seats were fine by me.

I would get a Tacoma again 100 times out of 100. It is the perfect truck for where I am in my life right now in terms of reliability, capability, size, and functiionality. The only thing I would seriously consider doing differently is getting a TRD sport DCLB instead of the OR short bed. I like all my fun off road features, but use them less frequently than I would use the longer bed.

I had a '13 TRD Sport access cab that was alright, didn't excite me much... Now I have a '14 TRD Off Road double cab that I LOVE.

I bought a 2007 ACLB 2.7L 5 speed and took it across Canada 6000 km there and another 6000km back. Roughly about 9000 miles on my odometer (it's an American Truck imported into Canada). I had no issues with the bucket seats nor the ride, I'm happy there. Dunno what all the fuss about krappy ride in Consumer Reports magazine is about. :D

My only regret was the manual windows, manual door locks since I'm coming from three RAV4's (2000, 2003 and 2008), so I really missed my intermittent wipers, cruise control, and electronic windows.

Well my son's 2000 RAV4 was scrapped (too expensive to fix / replace the power steering system) and he went a semester without transportation. Soon he will be doing his chiropractor training clinical year so he needed some wheels. I had to buy another TACOMA (oh darn...) :)

My 2010 is new to me and it's a V6 DCSB 6 speed manual SR5 and I'm could not be happier! No more regrets buying that Standard Access Cab 2007, and my son loves the manual stuff with nothing to go wrong. :D

    It's all good!

    Cheers, Barney

OP, I guess you need to revisit OZ-T's teaching moment above:

DC LONG bed, FTMFW!!(you have been taught this already)

I had some buyers remorse with mt AC Prerunner 07. Traded it in for DC TRD Sport 4wd and couldn't be happier. As for handling, I have the TRD Sport with the 17" wheels with Michelin LTX MS2 and a rear sway bar installed:)

Coming from a Titan 4x4, honda S2000, and altima. I am really impressed with my '13 trd OR. Nice build quality, great performance all around, no regrets.

I regret not holding out for a magnetic gray metallic truck, but I like white. I don't regret going for the SR5 over the sport one bit, especially since I avoided the skewp. I'd be just as happy with an offroad model, but it's been through some crazy snows and I'm pretty confident it will take me anywhere I need to go.

I don't like the fact that it gets full size truck mileage, and I don't like all the wind noise on the interstate, because I love music. The sound system sucked but I knew I'd be replacing everything anyway.

Three absolutely trouble-free years and I hope a lot more to come.

I've yet to drive one, but the one's I've priced over the phone are $34K ish for the TRD Sport DC short bed. What does the Off Road package consist of and is it worth trying to find one with this option on top of the TRD sport option.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
It's either sport or offroad, you can't do both. If you want both pkgs, the easiest way is to buy a off-road and add color matched grille, rear bumper and of course hood with scoop. Also no off road long bed.
Oh, and zero regrets for me, was driving 7.3 powerstrokes for the last 10 years, and I really enjoy driving the taco!

Believe it or not, I'm giving up a 2013 Super Crew Ford Raptor SVT for a Tacoma.

You know, I've owned 11 vehicles (4 wheels); 6 of them trucks, 2 of them suv's. I actually don't remember regretting any of them. Did I get buyers remorse, sure. When you lay down between $25000 and $70000 for something that isn't perfect (nothing will be perfect) you're bound to have a tinge of remorse. My trick is to buy something that makes me smile and has a purpose...with those two things satisfied you likely won't ever regret whatever you buy.

Happy hunting, enjoy the process, and don't stress about it too much.
