Dropped the transmission to replace a squeaky release bearing. The bearing was completely trashed, the flywheel has rows of grooves and is marred. The clutch plate itself was at the point it needed to be replaced as well. Black dust everywhere when taking the bell housing off. Shaft is grooved a bit, but I have the sleeve kit + modified bearing. I'll post more pictures later, but I thought this was interesting.

URD sleeve kit - a bit pricey for what it is, but it is definitely needed at this point.

I have the Exedy OEM replacement clutch, it is cheaper and better than OEM from everything I have read.

it went from a very slight chirp to a very audible chirp/clacking noise. I stopped driving it and ordered everything.

I will say that this is a hell of a job to do. I have air powered impact gun, a transmission lift and a warm garage. It takes some real effort, so unless you have help, I'd consider having a shop do it. (this is hindsight)

I did not want to do just the bearing, since the shaft is a bit worn. Hopefully this will not happen again. I think Toyota quoted me $700 parts and labor, so I saved about half and I have a better kit and clutch.

nice looking truck in your sig also :)
