Subwoofer

Looking at putting in 2 10s shallow mount subs in a 97 Tacoma single cab 4x4. Not sure on which to get and where to find the speakers and a box to fit them

I would say Kicker was a safe bet...about 15 yrs ago. They've gone cheap and there are a lot more quality subs out there.

Some good shallow 10s I've heard are the Alpine Type R shallows and JL Audio 10TW3. These subs don't require much airspace at all. You can find pre-fab boxes online (may be harder for the older models), but if you're at all handy with carpentry tools then build it yourself. If you must go pre-fab then make sure you get the proper volume for your sub.

 

Not sure how room is in the 1st gens, but my brother put two Kicker 10in Comps in his 2nd gen with a custom ported box. That sounded awesome. They aren't very big either.
