So I have a 2004 4 cylinder ex cab. No plan on a plate bumper or winch anytime soon.

I am wondering which combination will give me the best ride quality. Rather, if the OME's will give me a better ride than stock coils while still keeping CV angles manageable. I can drop the diff if it's necessary but i'd rather not.

Originally I had 5100's and eibachs and the ride felt great but even with a boot slide done I eventually tore a boot. I live a travelling lifestyle that isn't conducive to unexpected $400 mechanic bills, so I put the stock coils back on. I lifted the truck because the PO had put on 265/70's that rubbed way too often and I like the clearance for big Sierra Nevada snow.

Anyone with some insight or experience with both setups have some advice for me? Thanks.

    - OME suspension - Custom front/rear tube bumpers - 33x12.5r15 BFG KOs - Deckplate mod + AFE reusable filter - Aero Turbine 2525 exhaust, chopped before leaf spring - Toyota Horns emblem by Diaz Fabrication - Pioneer stereo and new speakers + 10" sub - camper shell
the 5100's were valved to work with the stock coils and the OME's were not, however I'm not a fan of preloading coils so im a little up in the air about it.

my 5100/881 combo sucked baaaaad compared to my 5100/eibach I have now. I mean it was stiff as a board and jarred over bumps. because of that, I'd say that the stock coils would be better. and less money. but I could be wrong, just an opinion.

x2 on this ^^^^ Wheelers know their stuff and are easy to talk with.

When you have rubbing with 31's (265/70-16's) it is usually from higher backspacing from aftermarket rims or sagging/worn out stock coil springs or a combination of the 2.

i know this is an old thread but screw it lol...
so im confused on what you mean by the eibachs were a softer ride because the eibachs are a 600# spring rate and the 881's are only 500#...im vary curious about this because im about to buy the 5100/881 combo. what kind of Tacoma is yours? single cab, ex cab, dbl cab v6 or i4?
