So I had my window deflector laying around for a while and since we have rainy/snowy weather I installed them today.

The manual says to put the front edge behind the mirror plate, which would be between the black plastic and the rubber, however that is just not possible since you would have to squeeze the rubber in an odd way to get the rest of the deflector in. I see the danger of the deflector getting cracked by the window rolling up one day.

This is how it looks right now...is that correct or am I way off here. I also heated it up to make sure the clue gets too temperature.

I had the same problem with mine so your not alone. I ended up just putting them in so they run in the window channel from the front to back, so far so good but the front drivers side nicks a little bit when I roll it up. Someone else posted a thread on this same issue a week back or so and contacted AVS but I'm not sure what became of it.

I have it in the same way...
If it starts to nick, I will use my Dremel to taper it down a little
