I was thinking even more simple, like the stuby on the back of my wife's Rav4 or like the fin on my old BMW.

I never ended up buying one. I realized, that was going to use a roof rack and that would interfere with the reception of any of those frequencies. So I started looking into the film antennas.

These antennas are OEM spec and manufactured for BMW Mercedes Volkswagen and similar vehicles. If you took one of the Toyota OEM shark fins off and look inside, you would see how much room there is for additional Tech

I have the 13" antenna x euro style.. Not a fan of a bendable antenna though.. Anyone know of a non bendable antenna like the antenna x euro?

I just installed the Hidden Antenna Kit from AntennaX. This kit requires a 12 volt connection so I connected it to the power wire (one of the red wires) behind the stereo. And so far, it works great. It didn't come with the little thing to plug the hole where the stock antenna goes. There's a picture this plug on their website so I assumed it was included. I emailed them and they apparently no longer include that plug. I just went to the hardware store and bought a galvanized bolt like this to fill that hole.

A short Carbon Fiber one. I rarely listen to the radio, but when I do, seems to work just fine.

One of the first things I replaced was the antenna. I bought a 9" and 12" from ebay. Both were on and worked great. I have the JBL entune radio with entune, apps, etc on and I everything works well. I have seen no degredation in signal strength on regular or HD radio. Here is the link to the 12" which I left on since my daughter wanted teh 9".

No additional connections needed for this one either.

I have stock but I cut it down to about 24". Reception is just as good and I don't whack the parking garage ceiling anymore.

I bought a CravenSpeed. Ended up just chopping the stock one to 13" with a dremel and ~15 seconds of my time.

Anyone want to buy a CravenSpeed Stubby antenna? :anonymous:

Stock but will probably get a shorter one. When I go to the mall covered parking it scrapes the roof!

I like to use mine as a clearance indicator :D

Unfortunately some low hanging trees on a trail got to it... and the stock one is bent. My buddy's antenna got bent on that same trip and his antenna actually snapped when he tried to bend it back :(

I actually use my radio so I don't want to lose any reception with an aftermarket....

I put a Metra hidden antenna in, got tired of hitting it on trees offroad

Has good in town reception, don't really notice a difference. Has a booster built in too so hope next time I go out of town it will work better. Mounts nicely behind the deck, up in the plastic between the defrost vents and dashboard.

    Bought on Amazon for $12
