I know that there have been threads on here before, and there has been a lot of debates about which bulb is correct, so I will ask the question again, because it may be that there are different bulbs for TRD vs SR5. I have a 2006 Tacoma TRD Off Road and the light bulb that lights up the a/c fan speed knob has burned out. Does someone know for sure what bulb will work for a 2006 Tacoma TRD Off Road? Maybe someone has a TRD that has had to replace this bulb and can tell me what bulb they used. I would rather not spend $15 at the dealership, but it beats $150 to replace the while mechanism with e-Bay used part. Any help is appreciated.

Mine flickers on and off. I usually give it a few love taps and it comes back on. It drives me nuts! I am interested in some info too.

Go to dealer. I tried aftermarket LED but didn't light up evenly. Light has to diffuse through some plastic to distribute across panel and LED is too directional.

So wait does anybody know if it's one light that lights up all three dials, or is there three separate lights?

    It's 2 lights for all...
The left side one lights up the left half and lower air recirculation button on the right side (yea weird) and the right one does the right half with the a/c button on the left

Interseting... See now here's the weird thing with my truck. The little light on the A/C button and the little light on the recirculation button light up when pushed, but none of the dials are lit.

all three climate dials have been out for awhile... I just turn the map light on. I was not sure if it was a bulb, fuse or electrical problem.

2 bulbs for dials. The recirc and ac buttons have their own internal lights.

A bad contact of the copper ribbon behind fanspeed dial can cause ac light to flicker when driving on bumps as it thinks fan is off when contact is lost. Don't break any of those plastic tabs. My ac kept going out randomly because of broken tab not holding enough contact on fan dial.

Working on it. Never Ending :)
I replaced mine over a year ago, make sure you order white ones and I have led ones and they work fine, just looked at my old ebay purchases and here is what you need (2pcs T3 T4 T5 Neo Wedge Dash Power SMD LED Bulbs(Blue/White), that is the exact item I ordered from eBay, hope that helps, I cannot remember if it was T3,4 or 5 but either way order all three and they are less than $10, one will fit and will fix your problem.

    Cheers,

Check to see if your rear running lights are out. If so, you have a blown fuse. Had a short on one of my trailers and it would blow the running light fuse. Somehow the control panel lights are tied in. Can't remember which fuse, but it didn't take long to figure out once I realized what was going on. Rewired the trailer and it never happened again. That was my experience anyhow.

those 2 internal leds is just the indicator lights to indicate when the a/c is on or the recirculation vents are closed.

Ok so I need bulbs. My A/C is fine luckily, haha.

Nope rear running lights are good. Fuses were the first things I checked and everything is good.

Cool thanks! So you think that'd be cheaper than the dealer?

:annoyed: Disregard me I lied!!! T4 is the correct bulb. T5 is 12 mm in diameter, T4 is 10 mm which is what you need. The damn things had to come from Hong Kong so it took forever! :frusty: I found a company on ebay from the U.S. so the new T4's should be here friday.
