I purchased ebc greenstuff 6000 series brake pads for my 2001 Tacoma v6 and they have different clips at the bottom than the old ones that I removed do. Does anyone know if the 2001 pre runner with a v6 uses different pads than the other Tacoma's do? Has anyone put EBC Greenstuff pads on a 2001 Tacoma V6? Any insight into the proper orientation or function of the clip like things on the bottom would be appreciated.

I put ebc green stuff pads on my 2000 v6 4x4 and had no issues.

Do you remember which pad goes on which side of the caliper?

I don't think it matters. They are the same.

The ebc pads looked identical in shape to the Toyota pads I pulled off.

I am trying to figure out which pads go where in the calipers. Do you know how yours were? My old ones were different. The black ones are the two pads from the passenger side rotor and neither of them has that metal thing at the bottom in the middle, like the green EBC pads do.

The metal piece is just the little piece that scrapes against the rotor when the wear down and squeal to warn you that your pads are getting low on material. Doesn't matter if you install it inside (towards the truck) or outside (towards the wheel).

Thanks for all your input. Do you think it maters that the old pads are different from these new ones?

does not matter at all. The new pads you have just have squealers on them. just put on squealer per side.

Can you confirm that the squealer can be on either side of the caliper. (inside or outside)
