I have the MM 951 on my truck. 16x8 with 4.5 backspace. Lately I have noticed vibrations occurring at 50-60mph. Before you say, "Get your truck aligned--that's the issue", I had it aligned when I got my leveling kit/lift on a few months ago and the alignment specs came out fine (see picture below). The right caster is slightly off which isn't a concern (from what I understand). Although, I've read in a couple other places where people have had issues with MM not balancing correctly.

I'm at a lost here. I'm wondering because they "aligned" the tires as if they were 265/70/16 that it caused it to be messed up. My tires are 265/75/16. I don't know if that makes any difference.

I checked if the rim touches my brake caliper and it barely misses it. So I thought it might just need a spacer to push the rim away from the caliper.

Any ideas/suggestion/things I've not thought of?

    Appreciate it!

Just a dumb question but should I get it realigned after installing the rings on?

Interesting thread, I have the same wheels/size. Even the same set up as the OP for the most part. Haven't had any issues with vibes. Did have a bit of a wandering feel in the steering when the 5100's went on but just had the alignment redone and it drives so much better now. No more wandering feel. Tow was out a bit on both sides.

I had the vibe when I had the rims first put on (pre lift)--was aligned then--on par-- but it was minimum so I thought nothing of it. Then I got my lift and got it realigned for obvious reasons. Had the same slight vibe. Now it seems to be worse.

Also, the vibe is felt mostly in the steering wheel.

I used to have the same wheels with 9in width, I'm positive its balancing issues and you'd need the chrome gorrila lug nuts, the black ones are not long enough to secure the wheels like the chrome ones. I experienced the same problem, just rebalance.

I'm using the Gorilla chrome lugs myself. FWIW.

No, that is why I found this thread interesting. Didn't know anything about them. But I now know if I have vibes that I have that option. Hell, for $10 I'm tempted to go ahead and order a set for just in case.

Sounds like you guys have solved the issue by either getting the rings or the lugs. I'll put in an order for both and let you guys know the results.

This is exactly what I had. It was a pain to even get on the interstate because the steering wheel shook so bad. For $20, I took a shot in the dark and ordered some. It stopped all the shake in my steering wheel and makes the ride better.
