This is just the beginning of this thread, and doing this project. It took me a good bit of studying to piece all of the parts together and mostly all are on shipment over my way. All I have left to receive at this point is springs, the mounting plates from Camburg, 90* fittings for the coilovers, and the rod ends themselves.

I have picked up the Coilovers already and here is just a teaser pic I am going to drop here to get the thread started. I will update as I receive parts and when the install is underway. More to come for sure so stay tuned :D

BTW. These are 6" stroke threaded body coilovers.

Lol, dude you should already know I never get Saturday's off anymore unless it's super special request or something. Sunday or nothing! :p

Plus I gotta get my drivers side CV fixed because it's flinging out shit all over my undercarriage. :( Until then I really should postpone any wheeling until further notice.

Just like I promised. I would be back with some pictures and info :D

Here they are as they sit right now. Still waiting on the Eibach springs and the 90 elbows. The upper heims take a 1.25" spacer, which can be found on Polyperformance or anywhere else that sells part# SAW-56702-002. 2 per shock.

    IMAG0538_zpsf33398e2_fdee5581a87a80de465b77cd6a6bc1caeaa9fb02.jpg

The Rod ends are the extended 3" length, which you will need to pick up from Poly Performance. I will give a snapshot of the screenshot I took of all the items needed to make this setup work at the end of the post. The lower rod heims take a 1.5" spacer on each side. 2 per shock. Part# SAW-56702-002-4.

    IMAG0540_zpsb5c1b4ce_9e51c485c43d91af6902fa260ab8fe8fd534d93d.jpg

The plates you can either get from either Total Chaos or Camburg, mine are made by Camburg

    IMAG0539_zpsb6b327e5_df096028e7149234d65db7333d54809b018e2c4d.jpg

The SAW's already come with a conical style lower spring seat plate, so you should be good to go there.

    - Bolt sizes for these plates (I am not sure if they supply them or not) Get (6) 3/8x1.5 inch long bolts for the tower bucket top bolts, (6) 3/8 lock washers and (6) 3/8 Nylock mating nuts.

    - The portion of the plate which adapts to the Non OE to turn it into an OE coilover is going to be (2) 1/2x4.5 inch bolts, (2) 1/2 Lock washers and just for insurance policy (2) Nylock 1/2 nuts.

    - In the case of what fits my plate, you will need (4) 1.25" bearing spacers as pictured below, these are already used, but you get the idea.

    IMAG0541_zpsebaa4763_ccd05692c77c52a802134982d9b27284f44bddce.jpg

    - The lower portion of the shock will need 1.5" bearing spacers on them as pictured on the above picture of the rod end. Just in case you can't see it for whatever reason.

    IMAG0540_zpsb5c1b4ce_9e51c485c43d91af6902fa260ab8fe8fd534d93d.jpg

    - This snapshot has all correct part numbers for the bearing spacers, rod ends, and springs. The 90* bend for the hoses I ended up getting from Kartek and the springs I got from elsewhere because they were cheaper, and there was free shipping, but all part numbers are correct besides the hoses. More pics to come as assembly continues!

Help me trim my fenders because they are making me rub like a mofo with all that extra flex from removing the movement limiting sway bar! (Only happens when I hit something super hard while offroading, lol)

Big shoutout to Blackhawke88 for giving me the idea to do this in one of his threads on the conversion for King coilovers!

Final thoughts: WORLDS better then Bilstein shocks. These are so much smoother both on and offroad at any and all speeds vs. the standard shocks. I can take berms and whoops at insanely ridiculous speeds and these just take it and take it with zero rub to the fenders from the tires where as before they would rub like crazy. It's no wonder you can jump these trucks with coilovers and not with the standard style without massive damage ensuing more likely then not.

If you are going to do this, you must get sway bar relocate brackets to retain the bar. Make sure you get them from either Toytec or Icon. Due to the massive overinflated markup of Icon for some stupid slabs of aluminum get the Toytec ones, they are the same thing.

Needless to say I am very impressed with how these perform and if I had to do it all over again I would not hesitate. If you guys have any questions, please by all means feel free to leave a comment on this thread or send me a PM. Happy wheeling! :)

EDIT: One more thing, due to the fact that a lot of these bolts are longer then what will fit within the stock dimensions, be ready to have some sort of grinder with a cutoff wheel ready in order to trim the excess threads of the bolts down, mainly the one from which mates the top shock eyelet to the mounting plate up top. One more thing, you WILL need 2 new bottom bolts for the actual shock which goes through the control arms to the shock rod end. You will need a 3 1/2 X 1/2 bolt (Don't hold me to the length, because I don't remember, bring your old stock bolt to the hardware store with you) make sure you get every fastener possible in Grade 8.

    I have a question.

I kind of have a similar project going on. I found a nice pair of Camburgs and I am trying to decide how I want to proceed. What is the total length of coilover after adding all the parts? And, how much did it lift your truck?

    Thanks

What size shocks do you have? Since they are not eom coil overs, do they have to be 8" ones?

did you just get the adapter for the 90* from Kartek? part number by chance? I'd rather save the cash and not buy a brand new set of hoses if possible lol

    18.900 extended 12.370 collapsed

lift is adjustable as desired. I have mine set to 2.5" of lift in front. 1.25" of exposed thread showing using a 14" spring.

    About $650

They have to be around 6". Though these are 6.53".

Yeah I just ordered a 90* adapter from Kartek. Give them a ring, they'll take care of you.

Sorry this is an old post but ive been looking and is there any play in the lower shock mount bolt area? Or does the bolt fit snug with the different heim bearings? Thank you

I apologize for my late follow up reply. You guys really oughta quote my posts if you have a question for me. It won't happen again though because now I am subscribed to the thread so I'll get notifications just in case someone has a question.

The heim bearings and spacers are built to fit stock size fasteners. They fit very securely within the setup and allow for virtually no play whatsoever otherwise I would not be running it. The bolts required to fit the setup are 1/2" diameter if I remember correctly.
