CB Newb question for you. Can you run the CB and listen in without having the mic attached? I "need" a CB but don't want to have the mic attached unless I am using it. I would mostly have the radio on for listening to chatter about traffic and where smokie is hiding.

The only Toyota engine I have ever had fail on me was a V6 in my 95 4runner. Never had a 4-cyl ever complain (except for stupid 16yo car owner mistakes) even the ones that had higher milage than the 4runner. So I'm a 4 banger fan for life.

Awesome last thread hi-jack question. I have AUX on my headunit, could I run a cable to that from a CB and use the factory speakers for the CB?

I seem to remember turning the CB on without the mic hooked up and being able to hear. Just don't turn that shit on without the antenna hooked into it! There are "speaker holes" on the bottom of the C19 unit. No idea about hooking up to a AUX input/output.

And Toyota 4 bangers will last forever, just take care of it.

Over to TN, see whats happening down south.

Thanks for the input. I'll add a decent (antenna, ext speaker, etc.) unit to my wish list and see what santa brings.

Shouldn't take to long and looking to have the bumper for a March meet. Billy was talking of having something built in a couple weeks and would post a facebook update with a pic or 2 while building it.

I'm partial, but I think it looks pretty good too.

I'm workin' on it! I've had some cinder blocks in the bed for the snow this year, had to remove them to help my sister move yesterday, holy moly at what a job those things are doing. I will be bringing them along also.

Start the locker talk off. I like this: http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-14297315-toyota-tacoma-t100-rear-detroit-locker-det187s-199a.html

    Buckles.

The bench seat belt latch is bigger than the bucket seat belt latches. I was unable to use the buckles that came with the FJ seat, nor was I able to use a pair of Tacoma bucket buckles I recently picked up (and will be returning)

    This is/was my solution.

This is the P/S FJ buckle.

This is the FJ buckle, taken apart. All I needed was the metal bracket, the rest was going in the trash.

This is the ground off rivet head from the rivet that holds the bracket to the actual buckle.

    Buckle and bracket separated.

    Down to the bracket.

This is the passenger buckle from the bench seat and FJ bracket. It's been taken apart with care for wiring.

    Removed the little silver tab.

Bolted them together. Nuts are lock nuts that were used to hold down the side air bags in the FJ seats. Several small spot welds on each as well.

2 completed buckles using the bench seat buckles and OE wiring with FJ buckle brackets.

The driver bench buckle taken apart. Has a bit more to it than the passenger. A sliding electrical contact is on the inside part of the back cover.

    In the truck and working.

Had a response. TW spazzed out and didn't make my post. To late to want to re-type the whole reply.

Blah blah blah. Parts. Had the bucket and FJ buckles laying around, they got frankenyota'd out of necessity.

    My LED pods shipped, finally.

Says Mr. I hate the way my OE clutch feels. (I'd put that little guy who stick his tongue out here, but emoticons don't appear to be working...[and every post I make the lines are double spaced, I end up going back and having to delete lines of nothing to get a normal looking post)])

The A340 is a proven, hearty, reliable transmission.
