I'm having black rims put on my truck later today and was wondering whether or not to have the white or black lettering out on the wheels. I was leaning towards the black but wanting some second opinions.

I never liked the look of the white lettering being visible.

the white lettering gets dirty too easy and is hard to keep clean. Definitely black lettering out for me.

Black lettering out, please. If a 4wd truck has the white lettering out and it's all pretty, you can tell it's just a mall-crawler. But if it has the white lettering out and it goes off-road a lot, the white lettering gets all shitty-looking. White on the outside is a lose-lose scenario for 4wd trucks.

only reason i don't like the white is because there are usually a lot of imperfections on the white letters. Another heads up make sure when they balance your wheels they put the weights on the inside of the rim instead of the outside.

Thanks for the advice ill make sure they put it on the inside.
That makes sense the white lettering on my old tires did get pretty messed up. I dont take offroading but I am on wet dirty dirt roads quite a bit.

    love the irony here:

    if it's white-out and clean you can tell it's just a mall-crawler...
then the very next opposition is if you off-road with white-out it gets dirty looking

half your opposition is that your truck might get dirty looking off-road...
which, seems to put you in the same league as the mall-crawler, no?

I vote black. Can't stand white, looks so ticky. Even if you have a white truck.

Hahaha true. However with me i will rarely clean the rims or tires but my truck is cleaned about once a month. Even with that getting it dirty does not bother me I personally just want the best look (I personally am leaning towards the black).

My truck is black(ish) and I really like the contrast of the white letters out
That was what I considered the best look... if I had a different color truck/scheme, black-out very well might have won out

Still, I'd probably say white-out, though
I'm a fan of black and white contrasts... black tires/white letters... I like it

No irony intended. I don't like the look of white lettering, clean OR scraped up. I have the black lettering out so when I take the obligatory photo of my truck with one front tire driven up on a big rock, no one will be able to tell whether I'm 200 miles from civilization in the West Desert, or 200 feet from the front door of Wal-Mart on the xeriscaped parking strip.
