Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
My AUX plug is not working. I searched and found a few threads on how to fix the problem. For the same cost to fix the OEM radio I can buy a better radio. My question is how do I know if I have a JBL radio? It doesn't have JBL printed on the radio anywhere.

Then it isn't a JBL. If it's not labeled on your radio.

Thanks. I tried a different plug. The radio will switch from AUX to CD and I lose connection to my ipod. If I get it to come back on the volume is low and only the right speaker is working. I researched it on the forum and it appears to be the AUX plug-in. Instead of fixing a cheap radio I figure I would install a new one. I'm thinking double din but I do like the look of the silver face plate on the dash. I don't want to replace it w/black plastic.

This. It will say JBL near the top and on your door speakers.

I agree with you on this. Some cars look pretty nice with an aftermarket headunit. Personally, I like the look of the stock unit in the Tacoma myself. I don't see mine getting changed ever. Personally, I would invest a little bit of time and fix the port. This way it'll have a cleaner/factory look.

Cut & broke off some stuff.
Try a different cable from iPod to aux first. Cables do go bad and cheap to replace. Does iPod sound ok on headphones ? Could be its plug.
