Just before and after pictures of my bumper. Cleaned it with acetone and sprayed 6 light coats. I dont expect this stuff to hold offroading but a whole lot better than dropping 100$ on a new black bumper. :D

Looks good! FWIW I dipped mine and it withstood backing into a tree that slipped off the bumper and smashed the side of my truck. That stuff is a lot tougher than I thought.

Looks good. I gotta try this in the Spring this year. Last year I painted mine with Rustoleum glossy black paint and it's already starting to chip off.

I plasti-dipped my rear bumper then did a few coats of a flat clear coat.

In theory it should help it last a bit longer.

I did my back bumper back in August and it's still on there like the day I put it on. Love it!

Never clear coated any of my dip.

I've had to retouch everything I've painted on the outside about once a year. Doesn't fade. Just gets stains scratches and tears from off roading.

    Some stuff...
I did this to an old license plate frame and it turned out really good! My rear bumper just has 4 or so coats of dip but so far, so good.

Thankfully we live in a free country, and to each his own.

But consider this. There was a time probably in the 1960s to 70s when everyone was buying nice older houses, many even with historic value. The thinking at that time was the old original solid hardwood floors were outdated and antiquated. So a lot of folks immediately proceeded to "upgrade" and cover them with orange or green shag carpet, or even vinyl floor coverings.

I hate chrome and if I can't find a Pyrite Mica for a fair deal near me (hopefully someone who put on an aftermarket bumper) or can't bring myself to pop for an aftermarket bumper myself I will dip mine this summer. I hate chrome and after lots of effort it's the last piece of chrome on my truck. I don't 100% like the black bumper on an otherwise monochromatic truck (unless that color is black) but I like chrome even less so the desire to rid my truck of chrome and being a tight ass may make this a reality this summer. I've dipped tons of things over the years so I'm not new to the idea just lazy sometimes.

Dipped mine rear bumper last summer and it seems to be holding up pretty well.
