    Just deleted the ad..

Girl one flaked out, and she seemed the most trustworthy out of the two.

Sure, there's good people in the world - but that's a hell of a long ride to make with a complete stranger. 3,200 Miles.

    Sure, it could go fine.

Or what if one of them had drugs/criminal past and shit hit the fan if I got pulled over by a LEO for a routine violation. Then what?

I think it's a good option for short-distance trips, where you're not going to be essentially living with a stranger for 5 days..

Damn, not gonna lie, I'd have jumped on the chance with girl one! Sure it's crazy but I know it'd be fun.. Personally I'm all about just layin it out there. Woulda told her right away that you've got safety measures in place so not to try anything and woulda just gone with it!

Yeah, she decided not to go, anyways - so it's a moot point now.

But yes, she isn't ugly. At all.

Dunno, just too many variables that are unknowns.

Like I said, it'd be great for a short ride somewhere. But, kind of like when you're leading a trail run. You're responsible.

    Thanks for swaying me all..

I wouldn't do it. Closest I ever came to that was giving people rides home when I was at college because I had a truck. That was a little safer because it was usually classmates but a student of the university at the least. No way I'd want to be on a 3,200 mile trip with a stranger, hell my best friend would drive me nuts if confined to a vehicle with him for that long!

If she didn't back out, I would've taken her. Said she wants to meet up next time I'm back on the East Coast.. that it could be "interesting".

    Harvest my kidney interesting?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Call her back and ask her on a date. Get to know each other and maybe start a relationship (Boyfriend, Girlfriend- Hell, she may end up being your Wife!) Gain trust but understand you may wake up in that ice filled bath tub with a missing kidney. No risk, no reward! [IMG]

    Good luck!

I lol'd at this. Before I was married I may have done something like this. Maybe...
I would have definitely met them for coffee or lunch or something before hand, just to be able to read them.

I gave a girl a ride from the east coast to Denver back in the 1980s when I was in college. A friend and I were heading for Colorado for Spring Break, and I happened to see a ride board (back in the days before the internet) with an ad from a girl that wanted a ride to Denver. We were short on gas money, so I called her and she sounded normal so I agreed to take her for gas money.

She was not normal and the trip was hellish as she was a bitch. We drove straight through and dropped her off in Denver at 2am at the airport just to be rid of her.

Damn! Now that does sounds like hell on wheels in a shitty way! That'd be my only real concern... I don't do drama and bitching. I think if I got in the car and realized it'd be like that I'd have done the gas station dip!

I would have done it, good looking chick or not. I would have chosen from the emails a candidate, then from there met with them in person and laid everything out to get to know each other.

You could always ask for an ID, make a copy, and fax it to someone at home, your check in person. Yah fake ID, but it's at least a photo of the person and a place to start if you did end up in several trash bags at the bottom of Lake Michigan.

Sometimes you gotta live, so that when you're old and sitting at the bar you have a story to tell instead of just listening to everyone elses.

My .02, but I don't think you made a bad decision by not doing it.

Those chicks probably had the exact same conversation on some other blog that was an exact copy of what was said on hear ..... "What if the guy puts you in an ice bath and cuts out your kidney for gas money ? Or what if he's crazy and eats your nipples like a piece of sushi ? OMG !! Maybe you should meet him in person first .... See if he slurps his coffee ? ... Better just stay home and be safe"
I would have went for it .... Great adventure ... Chicks Always have to pee frequently ... You get her to a B room .... Drop her shit in the parking lot and put the pedal to the metal .... !! ( if she got on your nerves)
