I got a factory supercharged 3.4 wondering if there is any difference between the regular efi 3.4 and the SC 3.4? I'm gonna buy a new long block and throw the SC on it. What I'm asking is are the block/heads/internals the same? Thanks in advance, jack

    nope. Totally the same.

Id look into adding the URD 7th injector kit though to help with pinging issue to get extra fuel...maybe even add a URD pulley wheel for more boost

but block wise. Totally the same. The TRD SC just replaces the stock intake manifold.

Okay thanks! I have a bigger pully and 20% bigger injectors but I've been looking into the seventh injector kit, and a FIC do u have any knowledge about a FIC?

Presumably you meant smaller pulley..as that's what gives you more boost.
You can essentially create the same power/ping elimination with 6 larger injectors, larger fuel pump and a piggyback as doing a 7th injector, fuel pump with a piggyback. URD offers both kits.

Piggyback as in just a piggyback controller. Allows you to adjust fuel and timing as the factory ECM is not flashable.

    URD kits:

As supercharger oil, you can use just the GM oil. It's the same thing. Magnuson makes both the GM and TRD superchargers.

Depending on how many miles are on your SC, you may want to consider the full nose cone kit:

TRD parts offers the full oil kit as well:

Okay that make sense, it's only got about 40,00 so I'm good. I put a hole in my cylinder wall at 80,000 on the block. I did the bigger injectors at 70,000 could the lean out of caused this? Cuz 40,000miles on the motor had another SC put on and a bigger pulley but didn't put the injectors in tell 70,000 on the motor.

Rods are the weak link in the truck. Pinging can cause a rod to bend/break (and consequently shoot out the side of the block or oil pan). Essentially when unintended ignition early in the compression stroke happens the piston will be shot up with increased pressure. It's called preignition.

But to do that...you'd seriously have to be womping on the truck and and pinging the shit out of the engine. It's a lot easier and cheaper to lift off the throttle.

Okay thanks for all the good info, any reason why I have a pin hole in the cylinder wall? I'm leaking exhaust gases into the cooling system so I can't get the air pocket out causing it to overheat. I found this out after doing the Head gasket

    FIC meaning front mount intercooler?

if the 3.4 s/c is the same as the 2nd gen 4.0l s/c, it is liquid cooled. you will have an "intercooler", but it just looks like a small square radiator that mounts in front of your existing engine radiator, and it looks nothing like what you would see on an evo or sti if thats what you're asking.

not the best picture, but here is my xrunner that was supercharged. you can see the coolant pump for the s/c under the grill. and the small square radiator is for the supercharger coolant system. you cant really see it unless you're looking for it

3.4 SC is nothing like the 4.0.
You can't run an intercooler with them.

there is a guy on here that runs an AEM FIC with larger injectors and has no problems.
