ive had the itch to complete this mod for some time now. Hate loading stuff or trying to strap stuff in the dark.

Pretty much a led strip , nothing special .

I didn't feel like running a power wire all the way into the cab, so I just stole 12v from the tail lights and mounted a push switch in the back .

-Down side is the rear tail lights need to be on for the bed lights to work.

-On the up side wiring was super easy, no wires running into the cab and etc.
-Other upside is there is less chance of accidentally leaving them on.

Nice I have been pondering doing that exact thing for some time now. I like the simple idea of putting on the park light.

It looks like plenty of light? How is it in the dark?

Did you get the lights on the net? Do you have a link?

i just grabbed this led strip (link below)

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/400593413219

For the same mod.... i have seen the 300 LED (60led / meter) version and they are bright... double the LED's should be DAMN bright.

Gonna use the 5m i got for bed lights and under hood lights.

FYI, the strip comes with adhesive double sided tape already on the back!

I'll post up the exact links of everything I purchased later , I didn't keep track but it costed me about 30 maybe 40$ tops .
5m was enough to do the entire bed , and I used some speaker wire to solider up the short connector wires at each corner then used heat shrink around them .

I also just learned there's a much brighter strip like nd4 mentioned . Wish I saw it before but I purchased my leds months ago I just got around to finally doing it .

Yes, those lights would work. However they don't say what adhesive they use. I bought a strip on ebay 2 years ago for my bed lights for around 15$ and it specifically said it used 3M adhesive. They have been installed for 2 years and adhesive still holds strong.

^this is probably the same strip i have. it uses different LEDs than the one you listed but they are perfect for bed lights.

The switch you listed isn't waterproof so i'd avoid it unless it will be installed where it won't get wet.

Mine are wired direct to battery with a fuse. Switch is in the bed. Nothing like walking back to the bed and now have to go back inside to turn them on or off. I do a lot of hunting and I just turn them on or off from the bed. My cap is also wired to the switch.

What size fuse did you use? 5amp?

Did you wire in a fuse?

I think im gonna pull the trigger on this. Probaly going to tap into power on accessory of fuse box, Im assuming i should wire in the fuse coming right off the fuse box to the switch or do you think the accessory fuse im tapping into will be ok? Sorry if dumb question. Not the absolute best with wiring
