Well I went down pretty hard last weekend at the track and jacked up the bike pretty bad so i thought I'd post up the pics here. lol It's a '99 XR400 and I have to replace both levers, grips, tire splash gaurd, subframe, and muffler. Anyone else got pics of your bike thrashed after a crash?

Back in 2009 I tumbled down the road after I hit some sand in a corner in the mountains and over-corrected the slide. I ended up high-siding at 40mph. Every front rib on the left side was broken, left lung collapsed, ruptured spleen, internal bleeding, aorta was bruised, most abdominal organs were bruised and the only external damage was a tiny bit of skinned knee (gear saved me from road rash). About 12 hours after the accident my massively bruised internal organs all swelled up and that was unlike any pain I've ever experienced. 6 Days in the hospital.

2011 or so? I supermanned over the bars at 20mph or so when I ran over the edge of a loose water main cover that kicked up and lodged between the hole in the ground and my engine sump. The airbag vest that I bought after the above accident saved my neck. I came to a minute or two later and the bike's engine was suck open full throttle with no oil in the engine... The bike was totaled. Bitch of it was I was about 100 ft from my garage coming around a tight S curve that cars routinely cut when coming the opposite way so I always hugged the right around there and I had ran over that cover 100-150 times before. I always heard it rattle but never thought much of it...

Diagram I made back in the day, I ran across the left edge of the cover not the right as the line shows. Art wasn't my specialty... I like how you can see the oil splatter remnants.

Sadly, I can participate in this thread :(

Before a drunk driver in a Dodge Dakota got me...

This incident sold me on the ATGATT lifestyle. My gear saved me from more serious injury.

Two types of riders, those who have been down and those who are waiting their turn. I'm currently recuperating from a shattered collar bone after being hit from behind on the street two months ago on my 2013 Kawi 636. Gear saved my ass...still required surgery. AGATT!

Some gnarly pics! Riding is fun, but sure is dangerous!

Holy ass! I've thankfully not had any run in's with drunk drivers yet.

Didn't take pics of the bike, but it wasn't bad. Tweaked bar mounts, subframe.
