Fiberglass Repair Work

    Well, after wiping out my drivers side mirror at the Cliffs Insane Terrain last weekend at the Chicagoland Toyota Jamboree, I had some repairs to do. I wiped out my fender and mirrior in about 40 milliseconds on the trail and heres the resulting fix. If you have any questions about the fix just post up and ask.

    Fiberglass can be challenging and quite easy at the same time, and save you some coin as well.

    First I glued the upper portion and lower portion back together with some epoxy, then I had to rebuid the part left on the trail...
    Rough fiberglass after my initial formwork (hand laid the glass over a pice of styrofoam I sanded to shape):

    Then afler a little spot putty and some sanding:

    Saved $151 by not having to replace the damn mirror!

    And heres how the fender turned out: (mind you, not perfect, but the fender was creased just below the headlight and bent up at a 90°, plus had to rebuild the edge along the headlight too!)
