Just got done playing around off the beaten path. Aired down to 10 psi for the 1st time. All I can say is wow. What a difference.

Heck ya, I'll usually go to 16-18psi from my usual 40. 10 is a bit low if you aren't careful.

Uh yeah airing down makes an incredible difference. The amount of ground clearance lost is offset hugely by the grip gained.

There is even a massive difference in grip between 10psi and 8 psi.
    Here is 8

Yup...you said it. Airing down is the line between making it and not making it. Especially in the winter time.

Naa...I've been running 5 all winter without any issues. And 8 in the summer. There is a HUGE difference between the sidewall on a 35 compared to a 33. 10 on a 33" tire is still pretty low.

MTR's are known for stiffer sidewalls, so I wouldn't say 5 is too low for them. specially 35's on 16's.

I typically run 12.5psi on my KM2's, but have ran as low as 8.

    This is 12.5psi

I usually go between 12-14 on mine. Definitely a must!
I will say it's a big help to have the OBA to air back up on my own.

Don't air down if ya can't air up! Puts the hurt on your tires real quick.

Yeah, before I had c02 I would air down to about 18-19. It helped out on the trail and wasn't terrible on the highway. Aired back up as soon as I got the chance though.

Ive never aired my tires down but sounds like it would really help with my traction issue with my open diffs. need to get a co2 setup to air back up.

Haha yeah. I've driven on 20psi for a week straight before... :anonymous:

    Mostly under 30mph though.
Yeah, it help immensely as well as makes the ride more comfortable. c02 or on-board air are both great options.

I air down to 14. I've pooped a bead at that psi but the tires had only been mounted for a week or so. And, yes, a world of difference on the trail.

How funny this topic came up this weekend. I aired down for the first time yesterday and was impressed with how much smoother it was. The trail wasn't insane... lots of sand. But as a whole, I will forever be airing down at the trail head, even if air is not readily available. That might determine how far to go... but the pressure will be low. 16 was a good starting point.

Yeah the ride was a lot better. Where I went is real bumpy. I was just in some woods with sand, tree roots, and a little mud. I only spun once. I went down to 10 on my 31x10.5x15 wrangler authority's I just got about a month ago. I heard don't go below 10 unless you have bead locks. It took forever for me to air back up though. I only got a little portable pump. She was hot at the end haha. I can't wait to get my truetrac in. Should make a massive difference

Earlier this week, I aired down to 15psi and started going around to help people out (I live in GA). The low PSI really helped with ice
