I tried a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I want to get an attachment for my drill to blast off some of the rust and then paint it this spring. This winter has done quite a number on my frame. What attachment should I get? I don't want to get something too rugged that will damage the frame.

    suggestions?

A selection of scrapers, some wire brushes, a gallon of acetone, a gallon of odorless mineral spirits, a respirator, a few pairs of safety glasses, a pressure washer and some Rust Bullet paint are what I used.

I did mine over the course of a few months, spending a few hours a day scraping rust scale off. When I finished the whole frame, I went back and did it again, finding more. You can paint over the rust with Rust Bullet, 2 coats. Then I hit it again with 2 coats of Rustoleum satin black. Then I started using Fluid Film so I never have to do that shitty job again.

I sandblasted mine. It took two days. Totally worth it. I love washing my truck and seeing nice painted black frame behind the rear wheels instead of orange rusty looking frame.
