So before I even picked up my truck from the dealer I ordered 8000k HID kits for the headlights and fogs from DDM. Before you give me shit, I know now that that was dumb. I don't use the headlights unless I have to so I don't piss off other drivers. Projector retrofit is on the way and I bought 3000K bulbs on eBay to switch out for the fogs. But when I did that I was very unimpressed with the color. They just look like really bright halogens. The light they project is somewhat yellow. So then I bought yellow overlays on eBay but they didn't install properly and I didn't like the look when the lights were off so I peeled them off. They did make it a nice yellow though and I did get a picture for comparison. The bike I used to have had 8000k low beam and 3000k high beam and it was a nice yellow color which is what I want. Here's some pics, they should be self explanatory.

I don't know if it's cause I bought cheap eBay bulbs or the way the reflector is on the 2012+ fogs but I expected a lot yellower. What I want is a nice yellow light like the bike shows. I want to keep the clear look when the lights are off and I won't go back to halogen. Any other options?

I found that 3000k hids are more like a pukey yellow. On my old car I went from the pukey yellow 3000k hids

To some yellow lens overlays and went back to halogen for a deeper yellow look
