I was at the Chicago Autoshow Saturday and I got to check out GM's newest version of the Twins.

Both Chevy and GMC had the new Colorado and Cayons on display as Access Cabs and Quad Cabs. No numbers on pricing or performance yet.

They will both offer a 2.8l Inline 4 turbo diesel.

    Engines
    2.5L I4 150hp 184tq gas
    3.6l V6 300hp 270tq gas
    2.8l I4 Turbo 180hp 347tq diesel

The interiors look great. Hopefully this will force Toyota's hand as the Tacomas at the show just felt sad. It is very evident the interiors are at least one industry generation older. Not much has changed in 10 years.

Chevy and GMC are basically putting a dress on a pig.

That red Chevy looks nice... but I still can't get past the fact it's a Chevy. I'm sure the interior and the creature comforts out of the box blow the tacoma out of the water.

Looks like the offspring of a Tacoma and a Chevy Malibu.

Your specs, at least for the 2.5L I4 are incorrect. Horsepower will be closer to 193... not 150.

I actually hope it is a great truck. Some good solid competition for the Tacoma would be a great thing. Not only will it push Toyota to make some changes, it gives us the consumers more options...

    Do dents and scratches count?
Still think the tacoma is a nicer truck. I used to really love chevy trucks, but not so much anymore. I had a really nice 84 step side that I loved. I had a 96 s10 that was a great truck. I also had an 05 2500HD that I loved. The latest gen of chevy trucks seem to be all bells and whistles which is not my thing. I like a basic truck, that does what a truck should do.

As far as reliability all of those were good trucks. I never had much to complain about. The 84' disintegrated from rust/rot. The 96 eventually suffered a blown motor at 250k. And I would still own the 05, (the guy I sold it to loves it) but I needed the extra money to help purchase a house.

I think GM has stepped their game up in recent years. I do hope Toyota make some improvements to the Tacoma in response. I'm also interested to see if Ford is going to do anything similar, like redesign the international ranger to be more Tacoma like. I was basically a coin toss away from getting an F-150 when I bought my Tacoma, but it came down to size. I just don't want a full-size truck.

I have to be honest here boys, I really like the look of that GMC Canyon, but I wouldn't be 4 wheelin with it ... doesn't look like it could go anywhere worth going to

I don't care what other T/W members say, I'm gonna' look at one this fall. I wouldn't buy anything from GM, Ford or Chrysler in the first year of production though.

I saw it at the DC auto show and like the styling, size, and engines. What I don't like is no manual except with the 4 cylinder, the front hangs down low so the approach angle has to be poor, the shock mounts are hanging way down below the rear axle just like GM has always done, the interior looks ok but the dash “infotainment screen" is overpowering.

I actually really like the looks of the Chevy's. The only thing those trucks have that I wish Toyota offered over here is a diesel option.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
No thanks but If they ever make a stripped down short wheelbase regular cab dually for around say 15k, I'm in. Other than that, It looks like my psycho Sister had a hand in designing the interior. I want a simple black interior but they HAVE to fuck it up. Shame.

Is that genuine imitation faux wood trim? Yuck. No thanks, I'll stick with my Tacoma.
