OK, I have a 2010 Tacoma with stock 265/70/16R tires. I want a bit bigger tire and higher look, but don't want too big of a lift so I don't have issues with MPG or speedometer, etc. And I'm on a budget.
So what kind of wheels, tires and lift should I consider moving up to that won't break my bank and won't change my ride too drastically?

You asked us to tell you what to do - here's the answer for the simplest "no worries" solution that meets the criteria you described. No whining.

Get yourself some bilstein 5100s shocks. Set the fronts for a 1.75" lift. Get a 1" add-a-leaf spring for the back.

Keep your factory wheels, and get GoodYear Wrangler DuraTrac 265/75R16 tires for them.

    You're welcome.

PS - buy the suspension stuff from a vendor who supports TW such as Wheelers or DownSouth Motorsports. (there are others.)

Buy the tires from a local dealer with a good price. It's not worth the hassle to mail-order tires and then have them installed - what you save in money isn't worth anywhere near the finger-pointing trouble if there are balancing issues. "You brought us the tires man - send 'em back to the place you bought 'em from."

Save a dime by installing the suspension yourself following one of the install threads in the suspension section of this forum. If you absolutely can't do that - expect to pay somewhere around 300/400 for the suspension install, including the required alignment.

    You're welcome again.

Here is a picture of my old truck with that set up. The rims were 17" so the tires were 265/70/17. same demensions as 265/75/16.
