Hello my fellow Southern California brothers and sisters! I recently (read: today) had Katzkin custom leather seats installed in my Tacoma. The place that did it is called ASC (American Sunroof Corporation) and it is located off of Miramar Rd at 9240 Dowdy Dr. Patti Turner is the lady who I dealt with and her number is 858-566-1770.

I provide this information purely as a service to the board and its members. My seats are done, my bill is paid in full, and you don't need to tell her Shawn sent you. I am extremely happy with the quality and the installation. If you're interested, they do excellent work... and as the name would indicate, they also install sunroofs, and moonroofs, electric and non. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

A little more info... I got the "center" style, two tone surface with gray outer and blue inner. I also got contrast stitching and perforation on all seats. As you can see, TRD Sport is also embroidered on the front seats.

The whole enchilada was $1,395.00, total. If you're not inclined to do upholstery work on your own (I was not) it is an alternative to the group buys being put on. It is REAL, QUALITY leather.

    To come.
$1395 is not bad at all. I paid $895 for the leather in my Miata (only 2 seats) - but I upgraded to Katzkin Tuscany leather which is more expensive than standard Katzkin... I did the installation myself though.

I'd love to see your truck in person at some point. I'm in San Diego too.

Very happy with the work they did, and yes... professionally done = wrinkle free. It's why I didn't want to do it. I know zero about upholstery, so...

OP, its been 4 months since your install. How do you feel about them? Mind posting some "broken-in" photos?

I am also in San Diego (drive by the ASC on daily basis). After 7 years of driving a BMW and having very disappointing experience purchasing my current X3, I am having the dealer buy my it back and I am switching to a DCSB Taco in the next couple of weeks. Lack of leather seats option is pretty lame but I would like to see what $1400 aftermarket would buy me.

^Love them. If I took photos of then and now, you'd never know the difference. They look exactly the same.

    Seriously.

    Looks terrific!

Just to give you West coast guys some new material to tease us Southern guys; Jeff Foxworthy would say " You might be a redneck if you ask how many Katz you had to skin for your upholstery?"

Like you my two previous trucks, my Corvette, and my wife's Yukon all had/have leather upholstery. I know I could have bought a Tacoma Limited but wanted the TRD Off Road 4x4 which did not offer leather.

Yours looks so good I think I might go with Katzskins. If I do I will definitely have them professionally installed.

    Not enough...
I got mine installed about 2 years ago too. Everything is great, except for the left side of the driver seat cushion getting some visible wear. My truck is lifted and garage is pretty tight so I need to do some gymnastics to get out of the truck and the leather is starting to wear out. I'll post some photos once later. Another complaint is where they installed seat heater switches. For some strange reason, and without even asking me, they decided to stick them into the plastic seat trim. Not only its a bitch to reach them with my hands, when my girlfriend forgets to turn them off, I drive around for days with the passenger seat heater blasting, because there is no way for me to see the switch and the led indicator so I don't even know that its on.

Other than these 2 things everything its great.
