Thinking about doing a retrofit in the near future. Have been looking around and really like the look of the amber halos. So i was wondering, if you wanted amber halos then would i have to get the amber HIDs also. Do the halos turn off when you turn the head lights on? Would having the white HIDs with halos look really weird if they dont turn off? I really would like the white HIDs cause there brighter or are the amber HIDs just as bright? And whats the difference from the 60mm and the other mm? Is it just the size? If it is what size should i get for the bi-xenon Morimoto Mini stage III kit.

    please help

    Thanks

The halos can be wired independently so you can make them function any way you wish. You can have them wired to the marker lights, headlights, low beams, whichever you prefer, even have them on a separate switch if you really want to.

You can have amber halos paired with which ever color HID's you wish. They are not related.

As far as usable light output, 4300K is best but, in a retrofit, you will be hard pressed to notice the difference between 3000K and 6000K, just get whichever color you prefer.

If you have some time, take a look at HIDPlanet.com. LOTS of retrofit ideas and pictures on that site and it's fairly easy to search. They have pictures of different projectors also if you're on the fence with what you want to do.

amber hids??? For foglights right?? I cant imagine having orange light like that being anywhere near legal, or be very bright in a headlight application.

HIDplanet is the mecca of information on this stuff like Pugga said. Once you get it done, post up pics, Id love to see.

Here is 5000k in FXR, if you go higher than this you might as well not even do a retrofit

Just wondering but why do you say if you go higher than its not even worth doing a retrofit? Are they too bright or what.

no, as the higher K ration the less actual light output and the more purple/blue the light becomes. ideal is 4300k

    4300K is slightly yellow
    5000k is pure white
6000k isn't too bad but its less light because it's blue

8000k and up are complete garbage and this is what you see
