Bypass's and bumps in the front? Hot damn that must be smooth on landings. I can't believe that all fits up there

Not sure I am sold on that secondary mount at the bottom (bolt on?)....is this the way it is, or maybe just a pic during install and there is more to it?

No bashing here to be clear, just curious because of looking at the mount for the coilover. Seems like it would be closer to that maybe.

I wondered that myself why Total Chaos went with the bolt on clevis for the secondary lower mount. The bolt is actually welded to the clevis and it is grade 8 9/16th bolt. It's a lot beefier than it looks in pictures and the plate its bolted to is pretty thick. I thought about having it welded on but then I figured that Total Chaos did their homework on this installation. With most of the load on the clevis and bolt being a tension load it seems as if it will be fine, if there was a rather large shear load I probably would of had it welded. But only time will tell.
To be fair (and not bashing) On the Icon lower secondary mount, half of the mount is to the skid plate that is held on by 3 carriage bolts and the other tab is welded to the Toyota stock LCA which isn't even close to the quality of the TC LCA, I'm sure there are many that question about that also but it seems to work just fine.

I've know you can run a secondary shock I didn't think there was enough room for air bumps up front

Doesnt the new TC Race series lower have a secondary shock mount fabbed already. Not one that bolts but is already welded on?

Ya they do good work and I would never doubt their call at all. I honestly did not know and have asked since. Learn something new everyday. Dylan and Jeremy here both say it is solid!!

Agreed on our mounting solution, I don't think quality is part of it though being totally different. It def works great without issue, plenty of test miles.

You could cut a set of shock tabs from about $5 worth of plate and weld them on in an hour or two  if it works great, but I am a fan of overbuilding. In the chance it does break say bye to those pretty shocks, when it wedges itself into the wheel its not going to be pretty

yea that bypass mount looks sketchy to me also. will be interesting to see how it holds up. Just doesnt seem like enough meat on it.

The clevis that holds the bypass lower mount is actually thicker than the tabs that hold the lower coilovers mount. Beginning to think you all are overthinking this.

It is the angle not the thickness, there is a reason every other tab on everything is shaped like this / \ and not straight up and down. I over think things because I make my own parts

Still over thinking it everyone. TC has ran this for years on play and race vehicles alike with no issue. It's not like it's single shear. It's pretty much the same idea s the pin to eyelet adapters. If it ever does shear, then weld new mounts on, but run it and cross that bridge if it ever comes.

Had my Kings installed yesterday and the sway bar hits on the coil spring, has anyone had this same issue on installs, also I'm running the 2.5 Kings

Strange the resi mounts should have the sway bar drop built into them? I didn't have an issue with mine. My suggestion would be to remove the stabilizer bar. ;)

Sorry to be sarcastic, but why is your sway bar still on the truck? I had ome 883 coils before my kings and ditched it then. The higher spring rate more than makes up for it. I ordered my kings with 700# coils. The ome were 590#.

Great thread! I'm going Icon all the way! Just have to figure out Stage 1 vs. Stage 2. Not sure if I need the resi's, but I wouldn't mind the leaf. Thanks to all who contributed!
