Hey guys, I travel quite a bit for work and find myself using my smartphone for navigation. I wanted to simplify my navigation needs while keeping my eyes on the road. I researched a bit and found this product by garmin. Wanted to see if anyone on here has used this or similar products for navigation or heads up display options.

I know there are the typical navigation devices but I want something "hud" style.

Thought about getting one, but the HUD doesn't provide enough information (like if there are any junctions before the correct turn). I used to mount my Garmin Nuvi 250 at the top of the windshield, to the left of the rear-view mirror.

My buddy just got a contract with Texas Instruments to start prototyping this in his vehicle. Already told him if he can tap into some sensors like trans temp, rpms, I may know a few guys who'd want one haha

There's quite a few i found that hook up to the obd sensor and display lots of information. I like the Garmin one, but just looking at our dashboard I'd have to place it in the middle opposed to in front of the driver.

I'm also from CA, and have been warned by LEO on placement on GPS on windshield. I had a 4" Garmin suction cup mounted just below the rear view mirror, and was told "No".
You probably want to look at DMV regs. Something like 7" square in left lower corner, and I forget the centerline restriction.

yeah, that would be considered a driving hazard. that's the beauty of this device..it sits on your dash an projects the info onto the windshield...just like the factory huds on most newer luxury cars and trucks.
