I'm looking at headlights and I'm leaning toward a blacked out look. The two styles that really catch my eye are like the ones in these pics... I just need some ideas. I'm also looking to do a retrofit in a blacked out headlight housing down the road with black shrouds. I just would like to see many different varieties of 01-04 style modified or aftermarket headlights. (It would really help to see some Radiant Red Tacomas with black grill surrounds in here too. The color of the truck can make a world of difference)

You don't want the one piece designs because you lose some adjustability

yeah not really looking at the once piece ones. the pics are just for an idea of what im looking for as far as the look. eventually I want to paint the inside of the headlight housing flat black and do a retrofit, but until then I need something functional for my regular halogen lights lol.

lol if I had money amigo. even if I were to buy a set of retros, I still wanna buy new housings to put them in. mine look like garbage.. ive used a restoration kit which helps for about 6 months or so, but they fog back up after a while. and even after the kit, they still don't look like new.

I'd just do a retrofit...It'll be close to the same cost if you buy it during the ongoing groub buy from TRS. Just my .02

Mine are not blacked out, but smoked.
I like it, but have been thinking about getting blacked out, just because the smoked lense block some light - not as much as you would think, but it does block some.

Don't get me wrong, it looks great on 2nd gens, but 1st gens don't have the pieces that separate all the different lights in one housing like y'all do. I just don't think it'd look right. I do like it though.

if you ever plan on going long travel or want fiberglass, you want the one pieces so the corners dont fall out every 30 feet.
    here are my one pieces.

I'm using corners from the smoked headlight set and headlights from the black headlight kit. Matches way better from the front than the totally black corners.
