Heya guys, I've been recently looking at what I should add to add some kick to my 2.7 2013 Tacoma. I've got some things on the list, but it's most of the more well known stuff. TRD Cold Air Intake, Headers, aftermarket Fuel Injectors, etc. but I was wondering what some standout manufacturers on headers or Fuel Injectors are.

Also if possible, could someone make a little list of anymore performance upgrades that I could to for "relatively" cheap. (Around $1000 at most) Thanks any help is appreciated :D

Regear, I dont think theres to much that'll really wake up a 2.7. Urd sells a supercharger but its almost 5k

Mine truck is stock but headers afe filters and maybe a less restrictive muffler is about it unless you wanna spend major bucks.

If you want more kick then I would suggest you save your money trying to buy a bunch of add-ons that are not effective and trade your truck in on a model that had the V6.

Also, there are a bunch of other threads on here discussing this very topic ad nauseum. Please do a search and see for yourself.

Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
The list of 2.7 "performance" parts is a short one, and you just about mentioned all of them. I installed a few simple bolt one parts onto my 2.7 and am satisfied with the results.

Our 4 bangers are basically high torque low rpm industrial engines and I wanted to enhance only that specific quality on mine and so I looked for parts what would make the little engine pull harder at low rpms.

The one that hands down gets the most results is the LCE long tube header ($475 shipped).

I ran mine on a dyno and it lowered the torque peak by 650 rpms.

I also run a really long Injen intake. And while I don't believe that it made any performance difference... it sounds freaking AWESOME! :)Nothing else sounds like it. This video is with the really quiet stock exhaust so all the sound you are hearing is only coming from the intake.

I also run an intake manifold spacer ($245) that lowered the torque peak another 250 rpms...

So for $940, I took a stock 2TR FE engine with a torque peak of 3,800 rpm, and turned it into a "tractor" engine that has a torque peak of just 2,900 rpm. :)

What other benefits, if any, have you noticed? I'm looking to do similar modifications to my 97 as I use it for a light duty work truck.

You have a first gen Taco, so the parts that fit your engine are different. Do you have a 2.4 or a 2.7?

I had a four cylinder '96 2.4 that I used as a work truck for 17 years. I also ran an LCE header and the engine ran really good with lots of low end pull. This is what it looked like after ten years. If you keep oil off of it, the ceramic coating will last indefinitely.

Where did you get the intake manifold spacer? Do they make one for the 3rz?

    Check out my build:)
Hey tooter you think if I keep my stock intake box and change the tubing from the throttle body to the box Ill see any gains. I got a k&N drop in filter with the secondary removed however I want to remove the addition resonator or whatever that in between the box and the throttle body. In my head id figure making a straight tube would be very similar to the Volant CAI without paying the price
