So hopefully Obama is gonna give me some of the money he stole from me back in a little bit and i have been looking at a lift for my truck. after some researching i have found a lot of different answers about lifts depending on the driving that will be done. after reading about what other people have been using i figured this would be a good option for me. now im a complete novice so bear with me on the stupid questions

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Bilstein-Adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks_p_132.html

    I have a 2010 TRD Off-road DCSB

    so here are my questions.

    1. if i go with the full 3" inch lift is the diff drop required to ease the strain on the CV joints?

    2. will i need new UCAs to stop the coils from rubbing off-road and will it drift on the highway without them?

    3. im still confused on the how it affects the ride quality cause people keep saying different things regarding different types of lifts.

    4. what is the likelihood if i buy someone their favorite case of brew they help me install it, so i dont drop my truck my head? cause i really would like to try to learn about this stuff. to me off-roading without knowing your truck is like a pilot flying a plane and not knowing how it stays up there.

    1) No not needed as it does nothing on the 2nd gens. A center bearing drop may be though for your driveshaft.

    2) You may or may not. It's a good idea if going 3" to have the adjustability if needed.

    3) Most lifts will make your ride stiffer. Personally I hated the way the stock truck rode like a cadillac.

    4) That may be a possibility with someone in your area.

I did the exact same lift. New UCA's made a huge difference! I got Light Racing brand, they're the cheapest. It depends on how hard you offroad though, if so you may want something stronger like Total Chaos brand.

I'm eyeing up some camburg UCAs right now.. seems like a lot of the aftermarket ones come with the uniball pivots, which offer more articulation, but require more maintenance and cost a fair bit more. Camburg has some that use the factory ball joints though.

Wont a 3 inch lift cause vibration in the front diff?

So when is the transfer case drop required? Is it at 3 inches? Why do some get vibs and others don't?

Was the vibe problem on older Tacos? I want to increase to 2.5 inchs but I don't want to have to drop a thousand dollars in trying to fix vibration issues.
