Well it rode fine until a few minutes ago.I don't know what happened or what broke. I was stopped and when I started going I got up to about 10mph and the truck started vibrating so bad everything felt like it was going to come undone. I thought something had gotten in the wheel and I hit the brakes it got worse. I stopped. Thought maybe it was a fluke and drove a few feet more same thing. I turned around and slowly limped home. I got home checked in the brakes nothing on all 4. Checked my driveshaft since it felt like my driveshaft had taken a shit and noticed my carrier bearing was not where it was supposed to be. I checked the bolts. they were tight but almost like the driveshaft has been yanked out the carrier bearing. I spent about 30 minutes unbolting the carrier bearing, lowered the ds down onto a jackstand and moving the carrier bearing back into place. I bolted it back up and then drove about 7 miles and nothing but smoothness. Just a slight vib at take off that I have had since doing the lift. So I don't know what caused it but hoping nothing major and just go pick up a new carrier bearing tomorrow.

Oh shit......if theres no offroad/suspension shops around you , your best bet may be right here onsite, check the market places, etc:

Sucks, I usually have at least 1 set of good Ubolts around but I haven't got any right now...

How far up the threads is it bad ? Or rather how far up the threads before it strips ?

So bad I can't get the nut to even go on and no shops around here like that. I got the 4 in block out and went to put it all back together and what should have taken 30 minutes I've been go fighting with for 6 hours since I talked to you. Finally said screw it and shut the lights off in the shop and guess I'll be calling in to work tomorrow.

You'd be surprised. I can get a set from a neighboring town. It's getting there when they are open that is the issue.

HA! , you flatter me Gary...:) Friday might be a good day to check out your suspension

Adam, if the starting threads are bad, you might be able to salvage them by cutting off the bad start threads, then gently de-burr them holding at a slight angle against a grinding wheel/cut off wheel

I don't think they are salvageable. I got up at 7 this morning and went to that place out of town and they sold me a set for 35.00.... headed home to put them on now.

Holly shit that sucks on the U bolts. I bought a spare set for my last go at this and ended up not needing them. Have been debating if I want to return them but think I'm just going to hold on to them for just this type of situation. Not to mention my U bolts have been reused twice now.

FWIW for any 1st gens these are the cheapest replacements in 9/16 I found. They're about an inch longer than stock ones so no good for lift blocks but gtg for thicker leaf packs.
Pro comp part # is 50365
    $31 is current price.

Got it back on the road just a few minutes ago. Best part is no more 4 in block. And my pinion angle is almost back where it is supposed to be.

About 1/2 in taller in the rear than the front but works for me measurement from ground to fender is 42.75 in on rear and 42.25in on the front

Good to hear adam, I've been stressing behind the scenes, haha, yeah those numbers sound alot better cause when you said you had 44" at the center/bottom of wheelwell I was thinking "Damn, that sounds like alot."

So it's probably safe to say you had 6"+ in the back...:eek::eek:

no wonder there were some issues, good job staying after it & straightening out your mess dude !!...:thumbsup:

I went out & measured mine, then compared your first numbers & was just..."wow"...;)
