My wife managed to remove a few small trees with my 2011 SR5 DCLB. My whole family was on board, minus me, and everyone emerged completely unscathed, but the truck definitely took a bullet for them. I'm pretty sure that all of the following will need to be replaced:

    Bumper
    Grill
    Hood
    Both side mirrors
    Front mudflaps
    Fog lights
    Head lights
    And associated small parts

I'm normally not big on cosmetic upgrades, but since I need to replace everything anyway ...

    Time to mod and upgrade!

I already spoke to my body shop, and they're cool with putting on different parts and just billing the insurance for OEM, with me paying the price difference (or providing the part). So, I already have a plan ...

    1. ARB bumper and winch, with fog light inserts. I got in on Xpedition Ready's group buy.

    2. Sport hood with skewp. The skewp adds at least 5 HP, right? (Yes, I know it is cosmetic, but I plan to open it up to provide a little cooling)

    3. ???

I was thinking an aftermarket grill, maybe aftermarket headlights, and perhaps shorter front mudflaps, or just delete them.

Anyone have any idea what you would do, assuming you were going with an ARB bumper? What looks good?

    Mike

PS The best part was the conversation about replacing the bumper with the ARB bumper.
Her: I agree, the winch would be nice, but do we need all that?
Me: Well, presumably you're going to drive it at some point in the future again...
    Her: Oh, VERY WELL.

Scoop hood not necessary for cooling. Your engine can cool itself just fine. But if you still want the look, go for it.

Oh, I KNOW it's not necessary. It's cosmetic, but I can either open it up to get a little extra ventilation (not necessary), or put a LED light in it later. I would never have done it if the hood didn't look like a candybar wrapper and need to be replaced ...

What is the factory part number for the 2011 skewp hood, anyway? Anyone know?

Hmm. That's a direct bolt-on? Good idea. I was never crazy about the chrome trim around the grille.

Actually, reading about the ARB bumper, was the whole front end redesigned? If so, I have a 2011 ARB bumper, so I probably want to stick with 2011 nose parts. No big deal, if I decide I dislike the chrome behind the ARB, I can always plastidip it.

(Actually, my wife is a pretty good driver, she just got suckered by bone dry roads, a curve, and an unexpected sheet of ice on the other side)
