So now that the TRD Pro is coming out, how long do you think it'll be before toyota sells the factory smoked headlights? I saw them on all 3 TRD Pro vehicles, so hopefully they come out soon

Isn't TRD Pro just another trim, unlike Baja which was limited to 750 units, at least initially?

If so, would be nice if all dealers would be able to sell suspension parts, lights etc without most of them requiring a VIN #.

I believe the 2014 SR package also has these same headlights (although TRD Pro pics look more black than some SR photos I've seen). I suspect they are the same.

TRD Pro, which is 2015, not 2014 as this thread title suggests, has the same headlights as the SR.

Volume will be roughly 1,200 - so slightly more than Baja, but nowhere near a "regular" trim like the TRD Off Road or the TRD Sport.

I see, I did not notice any mention of a limited run of the TRD Pros in articles when it got introduced, but would not be surprised if that is the case.

No Baja/TRD Pro for Canada either...?

Yeah sorry about that, 2015 haha

Right now toyota has a "sign up" tab on their upcoming vehicles for the TRD Pros… so I'm guessing its almost like ordering one for yourself? but regular production they are roughly to create 1200 to 1500 depending on popularity of people signing up

The SR has the smoked lights… and the TRD Pro now has the smoked lights… toyota needs to get a clue and just sell the damn things

You could probably buy all the parts already or make them. I.e. bhlm, bilstein remote resis, etc
The only thing I really see different that exclusive to the trd pro that can't be bought or built (kind of) is the paint , grill, and whatever interior trim.

I'm actually digging that tundra tho. And my wife can have that 4runner

But that's the point, it's giving people a Factory option of these types of upgrades. While plenty of the people on this forum would love to do it themselves, we are in a far far minority of vehicle owners.

Parts have been validated and tuned specifically for the Tacoma, not just slapped on, off the shelf products.

Yeah I suppose. I just think it's cheaper and more fulfilling to buy closest to base model you can and build.
Read a thread somewhere that getting a 4x4 sr5 and swapping in an ARB air locker is more beneficial and comes out to about the same

That's true for people who know trucks, suspension, off roading, etc. like us. But someone who wants to off road and knows jack about everything we do to build our tacos... This Toyota another truck they can over price and sell to the less knowing

It would be the truck I would get if I was shopping for a new Tacoma. Since I'm not very mechanically inclined, I would still have to pay a shop to install a lift, so this one looks great, performs well and has warranty and can be driven home right away. For a regular guy that wants a nice Tacoma it works nicely.

Besides, for the price you all complain it costs, I can only get an SR5 or so here in Canada. If I drive across the border, I can pick up a nice Baja or TRD Pro for the cost of SR5. TRD Pro > SR5 :D
