Does anyone know how to get an RCA to mini jack off the stock 2003 double cab pre runner? I just want a hard wired line that I can put into the headphone jack on my phone Mp3 player etc. Does anyone know if the stock radio has a RCA input on the back?

for $100 you can replace the stereo with one that has a built in RCA, and probably more features. That's probably more than you want to spend, but it will work much better than a modulator.

You might look for a used stereo on craigslist, but you'll have to sort the wiring out yourself. Many new stereos will come with a matched harness that simplifies the install.

I just replaced the OEM stereo in my '02, I didn't see any connections on the back that indicate an additional input is possible. Usually if a CD changer is an option for a stereo head unit, that connection can be hacked for an aux input.

My stereo has no indication that a changer could be added (based on the front controls) either.

My OEM stereo was the CD and tape player. The best connection in that scenario is one of the tape adapter to 1/8 jack units. They are still available on Amazon. Search for Car Cassette Adapter, if you have a tape player.
