Has anyone installed an oil pressure sending unit in / on their 4.0 v6? I would like to install the gauge package, however, not certain where to put the sending unit. I have looked at oil filter sandwiches with the send unit ports built in, but I’m fearful of this method?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

OK, reviving an OLD thread here, but have the same question. I would rather not install a "sandwich" because I like the little oil drain thingy on the bottom of the oil filter mount. I would rather do the install like JeffH1199 did here:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/117896-diy-oil-pressure-sending-unit-install.html
I also found what appears to be a very cool sending unit Tee on the Pguses Racing site that looks like this:

I just need to make sure it will fit our Tacos. Any ideas guys?
BTW, I don't think those gauge pods will work on some of the newer Tacos because there are side curtain airbags in those pillars. If you got hit with those gauges when the airbags went off, it would definitely leave a mark (in the words of Tommy Boy).

So you can read what pressure the oil pump is making.

Thanks MaxaMillion. I saw that thread and tried to look up the part number, but it showed that it was no longer available. They showed the same part number with a -001 at the end and that was the part I posted the pic of above. I am hoping that part will thread right in place of the factory sender and them I can thread the factory and aftermarket senders into it.

Never mind I think that's exactly what you want. Sorry. Believe that factory sending unit is 1/8 bsp

Everything I've read says it should be 1/8 British standard pipe. Aftermarket gauges will be 1/8 not. I'd order it personally.
