Anyone have a quick run down of how you built it and what material you had to buy?
Curious of what you use as the foundation that would bold to the frame.
    Tools needed?
I hame a mig but that's it. Assume some sort of torch for cutting? Or chop saw?
    Tubing bender maybe?
I have a two car garage to work in so space is a premium.
I have done light fab work with my dad buy haven't done it on my own and haven't helped him in 20 years.
So I'm considering myself on the beginner side again.
But I like jumping feet first into the fire and figuring a way out too! Lol
    Thanks!

Maybe go to a place where they sell flat beds and see how they are built. Take plenty of pictures and go from there. If you think your over your head go buy one and out it on

I am also considering going flatbed. I have a buddy fabricator that I will be getting many tips from. I also plan on checking out other guys flatness in person to get a feel for what they did.

This one is almost spot on what I envisioned, excpect, I don't understand everybody shortening the frame so much.
I want to retain the same length of my existing bed.
I too am wanting to use rectangle tubing because I don't have a tubing bender, that an I want the hard angled lines as well.

That is how mine is going to be but I am cutting the frame. It will be like 4.5ft long. I do like the hoop of the other build. I am going for a short footprint because mine is going to be a crawler. But I do like the flat flatbed.

Most people who have tube beds similar to this bob the frame for a better departure angle.
