I actually just got back from the Toyota plant a little while ago. We didn't go to plant building its self though. We went to the medical building for a medical call... which is funny because they have docs there, their own fire station guys who bring the PT to the clinic, so we really have nothing to do there. Our EMS comes to pick them up for transport. Was hoping we would go to the main building, but no such luck. Wanted to get some shots of tacos coming off the line.

Let the journey begin, already have a bed mat and an UG-also bottle opener for the bed. LOL
Sure drives nice, nothing like the 93 I had.

Pictures of Tacomas coming off the line!!!! You would gain instant cult status among TW members and Tacoma owners everywhere!!!!

Of course Toyota may consider your pics an act of corporate espionage! :)

Awesome you thought to and almost had the chance to snap shots coming off the lines!!!

My dads a fireman here in CT and the training officer for the department! Keep up the good work!!!

I don't think Toyota would care if I snapped a shot, but maybe they would. I've taken 2 different tours of the plant for fire dept reasons, and the only place I know cameras are completely forbidden is down where the die is. It's several stories under ground, and is what stamps the sheet metal into body parts. It's pretty impressive to see the sheets before they're stamped and then afterwards. The opening where the doors are for the cab sides starts off with a slit so small only a very small child could squeeze through.. maybe. That's a lot of force at work.

My 2014 had 412 miles on it when I put the key in ignition for the first time. I ask them about it. They beat around the bush. I learned that it came from Texas an was built in a Mexico plant. I bet it was drove from Texas.

I think mine had 14, but I didn't order, just bought one off the lot. One of the guys at the fire station was telling me that folks at the plant that have perfect attendance for something like 6 years, get a truck given to them. Sounds like a good reason to got to work to me.

I know the waiting sucks, I have done it before with one of my past trucks. But it will be there soon, and the waiting won't matter anymore. here's to hoping it goes fast for you.

Good on ya.......be prepared for a day or two delay, or early delivery. The information channel once the vehicle is shipped is a little ummmmmmm vague?

Don't know if they still do it this way, but at one time dealers would arrange vehicle trades with other dealers to get a specific car or truck that a client wanted. Then someone would drive the car or truck being traded to the other dealership, then drive the trade back. I knew several retired men that worked for several dealerships and did that.
