I've googled it and looked around this May be a stupid question but I need a detailed installation guide to install my led light bar with a relay and switch. Did you guys run off the battery or splice into another. I found a bad ass cb radio installation guide and want to knock both out in one take apart. Thanks in advance for reading and helping and sorry site operators if there is all ready a thread on this.

I ran a Add-A-Circuit for the switch off my high beam circuit and the power to the relay from the battery and grounded to one of the grounds in the engine compartment. The bar comes on with the High Beams and switches off when I turn them off. I can also just turn the bar off.

Do you really need a relay? What about an in-line fuse with a switch? Never hooked up an LED bar but I've wired LED offroads lights on snowmobilies and golf carts with no problem and no relays.

Don't know. I just used the wiring harness that was sent with the bar. I don't like splicing into wires.

Yes you do need a relay and inline fuse. It's super damn easy I did it my self in 2 hours looks good and clean. My first install and even truck shops were impressed. Hit me up I'll give you info.

I used this and put common sense and my real basic knowledge of wiring and got it together pretty quick and easy.

I'm a union pipe fitter that HATES electricity so if I can do this really anyone can. Auto shops sell a fog light kit that comes with everything you need except 3/8" eye loops they come with some B/S 1/4" crap. I also ended up picking up a cooler switch there too. The fog kit came with enough wire in fact I didn't even use it all. Also make sure your switch in three prong. Power, load, ground. The extra ground in the pic coming off the ground battery I ignored. I'll get some pics up in couple hours when the sun wakes up. Hit me up if you need cb or led bar help.

Good diagram! So since you are not running multiple circuits (one simple on/off switch) that need to be controlled by the one relay, you could by pass the relay all together. Post up pics of the bar when done. Been wanting to get one but can't justify the price with other projects going on right now.

I've read posts of people not adding relays or fuses or switches. But if it all comes in one kit just add them it makes your truck ,light bar, battery, and wires that much Safer. Also makes it easier when I install another. I bought one off eBay for 80 bucks shipped and honestly I can see one damn difference as long as a I get a year out of it I'm happy. I've hear people bash eBay one but what they don't know is all the led bars Are basically made in the exact same place. It's falls down to which company buys them puts a bar together and puts a good name with marketing behind it bam 400 light that's only 10" long. I got 2 foot for 80 the throw is awesome the width the beyond great I would put pics but you can't really get a good grasp unless you see it in person

I did a little bit of custom work ha
I will end up selling this one to get a full size for my lower grill

Yeah I was going to do that but the Toyota logo doesn't allow you to adjust your light. I just trimmed a lot of plastic and mounted on my stock bull bar thing haha behind my bumper. And I'm not trying to makes things hard, when you buy an eBay light most 100 bucks they don't come with info or harnesses. So that's why i posted this. When you buy a good light 400 it's come with harnesses but you just paid an extra 300 for a name and harness. Also looks like yours is a single row. Mine is double no way was it fitting they way I wanted ha

This is my wife's truck I did for her

I've thought of doing that, but the license plate needs to be relo'd . I've been thinking of getting a universal bracket and using the lower holes to raise the plate.
