So I bought a 200Tacoma v6 TRD 4x4 manual with 150k.i got it for 5200. It needs new fenders and bumper but other than that I think I got a good deal, what do you guys think comes with canopy and 3 inch lift with 33s. The engine makes a ticking sound but he said when they did the timing belt and rebuilt the head they took it to Toyota to tune and they said it's good.. But I don't know if that ticking sound is normal it sounds do like a diesel.

The guy said that when they rebuilt the head they didn't replace the cams so you can hear the cylinders working.. He said he took it to Toyota and paid 1200 to put it back together and tune it and they said it's normal

If you feel confident, you can pull the valve covers and check cam clearances. Mine makes that same tick noise, but my valve covers leak, and I'm going to replace them soon anyway.

I have a feeling it's just valve chatter, but I'll check all the valves for correct clearance. They are "bucket over shim" adjusting valves is a involved pain in the ass. Not like a honda SOHC that can be adjusted quickly.

Well let me know if the sound goes away after you do that
